Homecare R&D Formulation Development

Main Responsibilities:

Laboratory Tasks
1. Maintain safety and hygiene standards in the laboratory.
2. Execute tasks associated with innovation, cost-saving, and branding projects, such as:

• Verify that all new raw and packaging materials comply with technical specifications.

• Prepare new formulations in the laboratory to evaluate stability under various conditions.

• Prepare work instructions, and mock-up sample.

• Prepare laboratory reports.

3. Prepare consumer test samples (mixing and filling) at lab and/or pilot plant.

Main Plant Trial (MPT) Tasks
1. Collaborate with planning, supply chains, and engineering teams to ensure raw and packaging materials readiness, arrange trial slots, and assess technical risks.
2. Participate in trials at supplier sites for new packaging designs and assess trial results
3. Collaborate with quality team to ensure all incoming raw and packaging materials meet technical specifications prior to MPT’s.
4. Coordinate operation & supervise the end-to-end process during MPT’s.
5. Facilitate stability tests following MPT’s.

Technical Information Management Tasks
1. Attend project team meetings to ensure all R&D-related tasks are completed on time.
2. Manage data on R&D digital systems, for example:

• Manage technical information and specifications using Unilever internal system.

• Create specification, fill template for code creation from MDM request, BOM

Supply Chain & Marketing Support Tasks
1. Oversee long run trials & first mass production
2. Monitor the quality and stability of new products after production (if required) and compile reports.
3. Assist supply chain in implementing continuous improvements
4. Conduct R&D related activities to assist marketing team during product launch such as: product demo, samples preparation for activation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in science with chemistry background or equivalent experience in capability field.

• 0-2 year of working experience

• Demonstrated collaboration, organizational & influencing skills

• Good oral and written communication skills, and solid presentation skills are required.

• Demonstrates natural curiosity for consumer and shopper, competitor actions. Brings insights into project team and takes actions on them. Challenges stakeholders decisions in light with consumer/shopper/competitor knowledge

• Practical experience in Laboratory environments or Factory Processing is desirable.

• Excellent team working skills and be able to work under pressure/complexity.

• Has a good knowledge of IT and exploit IT tools effectively, manage Data, Information & Knowledge effectively. Transform data into insight / actions.

• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment. Excellent team working skills and be able to work under pressure/complexity.
