Role Summary:

The Global Master Data Management Platform is a core strategic set of applications and capabilities that are an underpinning component of ETS solution at Unilever. Through a DevOps approach our role is to deliver and support a globally aligned platform through it’s ongoing lifecycle with an aligned process and governance toolset for the Core Data Masters. Its’ purpose ensures the integrity of content, process and design from the point of creation and maintenance through to reporting.

MDM Assistant Manager (7+ Years of experience) will be responsible for providing SME support for MDM objects and tooling and understand how their MD is consumed. They need to manage / support projects consuming Customer and Vendor Master Data, and requirements driving changes in the MDM space, supporting rollouts of key programs driven by Global Functional Leaders. They should understand the processes used by operations / the business to maintain MDM objects within their respective systems.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Understanding of MDM Processes and Governance
    • Strong understanding and appreciation of Master Data Objects across all functions.  Good understanding of key MD attributes and their significance of their values in downstream systems / applications
    • Appreciation of MD governance processes, guidelines and governance standards along with their significance.
    • Clear understanding of Stakeholder Model – Leadership, Ownership, Governance, Operations and Arbitration ownerships of each MD Object across various systems / landscapes.

  • Excellent communication and engagement skills
    • Ability to engage Global Functions, regional stakeholders and MDM and Business communities.  Proven track record of engaging with senior and Top Management in Global / Strategic Programs and initiatives.
    • Capability to support large workshops and conferences, engaging colleagues from various functions and levels of organization.  Skills to organize and run engagement meetings with key stakeholders in a crisp and structure manner.

  • Subject Matter Expertise and Business Process Appreciation
    • Thorough understanding of Application and Solution Delivery Models, ability to choose the right method for the right business need.
    • Clear Understanding of Systems in Scope, their interfaces, use cases, dependencies and cross-system integration layers.
    • Strong appreciation of significance of solutions in business parlance, and possible impacts in an event of an issue

  • Change Management, Exception and Problem Management
    • Experience of establishing a strong and transparent Change Management Process and governing the same.  Adherence to Unilever standard Change Management Tools and systems and aligning Team’s ways of working
    • Proven experience in leading complex problem situations.  Ability to arbitrate objectively and in line with Organization’s standards and codes

  • Experience and Associated Technologies
    • Strong technical expertise and solution delivery experience on MDM, SaaS and BI Tools (SAP, BW / BI, Pega, Informatica and related technologies)
    • Hands on experience in MDM/ECC platforms
    • Experience in:
      • Managing cross-functional requirements and engagement
      • Management of Change Request and Release Management process (e.g Remedy RFC process)
      • Solution Design, Delivery and Project Management
      • Utilizing Project Management tooling (e.g. JIRA, MS Project)

  • Experience and Associated Technologies
    • Strong technical expertise and solution delivery experience on MDM, SaaS and BI Tools (SAP, BW / BI, Pega, Informatica and related technologies)
    • Experience in: Managing cross-functional requirements and engagement, Management of Change Request and Release Management process (e.g Remedy RFC process), Microsoft Azure Cloud & Infrastructure exposure
    • Solution Design, Delivery and Project Management

Utilizing Project Management tooling (e.g., JIRA, MS Project)
