Business context and main purpose of the job:

Our e-commerce team is responsible for the developing the sales growth in this rapidly evolving channel. Through customer data and channel insights we can define a correct channel strategy with actionable insights to develop our growth across various customers and categories within the Online Channel.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and data driven e-Commerce Category Manager. As a Category Manager, you build and deploy category, shopper, and channel expertise. You aim to grow the online channel across all categories, each with his own specificities. In close relation with the Key Account Managers, their customers, and the customer category development team you develop growth plans to co-lead the prefect online store.

The e-Commerce Category Manager reports into to the local e-Commerce manager, who drives the overall channel plan and will be his/her coach. Next to this also a dotted reporting line to the CCD’s (customer channel development managers) of all 4 categories within Unilever Belgium will be created to guide him/her through the category strategies. 

Main Accountabilities:

You will be developing business analytics for the e-channel, across categories. This includes:

  • Promo evaluations on effectiveness and ROI

  • Online distribution recommendations

  • Customer specific data analysis: consumer insights related to category & brands

  • Combine offline brand/category trends with online trends

  • Act as the e-data expert to support internal teams (sales and marketing) – support in forecasting, drive online loyalty plans and promo plans together with Key Account Managers

  • Supporting Key Account Managers in building customer business plan

  • Defining what the perfect online store looks like by category & customer, developing appropriate action plans and monitoring performance

  • Being the external knowledge catalyser and giving strategic hands-on cross category advice to retailers

Your input will be:

  • Market information (GFK monitor)

  • Customer data and category insights

  • Shopper research

  • Category strategy and category value drivers

Your output will be:

  • Category and Client performance analysis

  • Business dashboard, scorecards, and measurement

  • Promotion guidance

  • Range, assortment, online shelving recommendations

Who are you?

  • Bachelor/Master level of education or equivalent via experience

  • At least 2-3 years’ experience in an analytical and/or commercial role

  • Experience in eCommerce is a strong asset

  • English + French and/or Dutch

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong customer mindset

  • Strong presentation & influencing/consulting skills

  • Able to perform in complex and stressful situations and against tight deadlines

  • Result oriented and passionate for growth

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Knowledge of PowerBi is a strong asset
