MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

The Quality Junior Manager focusses on implementing, executing, improving and providing technical quality support to manufacturing sites (Sourcing Units ;  3rd Party and Merger & Acquisition business) and the External Manufacturing Operations Team, technical innovation management teams, CCBTs (Country Category Business Teams) for Quality Management System (QMS) compliance, innovation execution, quality risk management and quality improvement.

It is a key role in supporting mitigation and management of UL Corporate Operational Risk (Design and production of products that meet our environmental, consumer safety and quality standards).


JOB SUMMARY

  • Supports Unilever Quality strategy, governance and goals through European specific projects and targets

  • Verifies that External Manufacturing Partners (3rd Party and Merger & Acquisition) can meet Unilever Quality standards by supporting technical capability assessments and closure of gaps identified in vetting / Supplier Quality Approval

  • Ensures and verifies ongoing compliance to Unilever Quality management standards in Sourcing Units &  External Manufacturing Partners through KPI monitoring and non-conformance monitoring, intensive care, technical visits (as needed) and general oversight

  • Support integration of new Acquired Business ensuring onboarding to minimum required standard and integration to Unilever QMS (Quality Management System) as appropriate

  • Supports Cluster-specific quality improvement initiatives with Procurement and EMO (External Manufacturing Operation team) where applicable

  • Supports changes to existing and new External Manufacturing Partners and Sourcing Units through activities that assure quality/hygienic control processes are in place and operating efficiently, e.g. follow up on audit action plans

  • Leads or supports quality and/or consumer safety training for EMO (External Manufacturing Operation team), where applicable), Sourcing Units and External Manufacturing Partners

  • Supports that process changes and specifications meet local regulatory requirements and product quality needs

  • Launch performance quality monitoring of new / modified products

  • Attendance and active support of project post launch reviews

  • Facilitation of and/or link into project risk assessments with project teams (both SC driven and Business driven projects)

  • Management of consumer and customer complaints (communication, actions and monitoring)

  • Targeted analysis of quality data and preparation of KPI based performance reports

  • Review verification self-assessments with Sourcing Units and Manufacturing sites (3rd Parties)

  • Participation or lead of local quality projects and roll-out [run trainings if needed]

  • Identification and transfer of "Best Practices" into the business;

  • Support of production transfers to/from other sites

  • Issue and crisis management support (case dependent - from lead to assistance)

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree in general sciences or technical discipline (preferred: Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Food Science or Microbiology degree)

  • Minimum 3 years FMCG  factory experience  preferably in Foods;  Fresh Food/Chilled Food Manufacturing

  • Proven and recognized achievements in risk and change management

  • Depth of experience within Food and/or Beauty/Personal Care/Home care

  • Auditor experience is strongly preferred

  • Fluent in English

  • Able to work organized and structured even when put under pressure
