Your Role & Key Responsibilities

Category & Channel Development (CCD) is a mission critical function that represents the voice of the shopper & customer within the Category Brand teams by bringing the outside world in to ensure our internal plans are fit for the market.The Head of CCD reports to the CCO, Customer Developmentand  leadsthe CCD & CD Excellence functions consisting of approximately 4 employees responsible for:

  • Leading a winning channel strategy for all categories    

  • Synchronizing resources to lead profitable growth across a complex, fragmented customer and channel environment  

  • Integrating Customer Development functions to deliver brand/marketing plans while improving return  

  • Leading the Category and Channel Development Capabilities agenda 

  • Aligning Category Management activities with Third party and internal stakeholder

  • Leading & Aligning Shopper marketing initiatives with internal and customer stakeholders

  • Leading Customer Development Excellence including Elida Beauty Sales Ops integration agenda and capabilities

  • Leadingsystemsoptimizationby evaluating and leveragingexistingtools andpractices

What Success Looks Like 

  • Establishes and brings to life the vision to lift the CCD organization in alignment with the full Commercial team, in part through transformative trade management strategies and bringing the voice of the customer upstream to influence fit for channel and customer innovations.    

  • Disruptively leads the channel pivot to growth in emerging channels and delivers CD strategy through the lens of CCD. 

  • Has tremendous gravitas and presence which is felt broadly by the Elida Beauty Leadership team (Local and Global), and the broader CCD team.  Brings a unique point of view and sharp edge to drive smart decisions. 

  • Develops a team of general managers fully focused on driving profit and ROI.  Leads HCI through net revenue management and data-powered analytics into insights. 

  • Drives performance real-time in the month and quarter through rigorous business management and delivery of growth driving initiatives. 

  • Leads Sales Ops with ruthless focus on eliminating complexity, a high degree of speed, and finesse in implementation. 

  • Working closely with Supply Chain and Finance leads to co-develop and manage S&OP process

  • “New World” Business Acumen:  Understands the complex external environment and internal workings and constantly adapts framework for solving business challenges with the evolution of the landscape.  

Job Requirements 

  • Minimum 15+ years of increasing responsibility within CPG the CPG industry.  Minimum five years of experience in sales operations, business planning, customer marketing or relevant roles. 

  • Experience managing analytically rigorous corporate programs. 

  • Experience withretailer.com’s, omni channel integration

  • Experience within finance and marketing strongly preferred. 

  • Ability to create strategies, processes and controls to ensure top notch execution of various programs including trade funds management.  Also has understanding of S&OP and other planning processes. 

  • Proven ability to translate sales data and business intelligence into insights informing development of sales strategies. 

  • Experience in continuous improvement of forecast models, segmentation frameworks, sales incentives, pricing strategies, and capabilities/reporting tools that enable development and execution of channel strategies.
