Background & Purpose of the Job

The CategoryStrategy Team LeadforUnilever is responsible for leading the HQ category strategy team, which consists of 10+ people across all divisions of business (BPC, Home Care and F&R).  Key deliverables for the Category Strategy Team include the development and commercialization of Customer Facing Category Strategies, Core of the Core category lists, portfolio SKU rankings, Category/Channel Shelving Guidelines and Category/Shopper Learning plans.  This role will collaborate at multiple levels across Unilever, including CD, CCD, Marketing, CMI, etc. while also staying closely connected to our field teams to ensure full integration of retailer/shopper needs back into the organization.  This rolealsoholdsakeyleadership role on the category management leadership team and the CCDLT.

  • You’re a changemaker:Defining the futureexcites you.  Solving problems with limited direction doesn’t faze you.  You have the intuition to anticipate issues and opportunities by elevating analyses beyond data to develop and translate insight into retail action.You will help define what category management 3.0 looks like – the online/omni world.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, MBApreferred

  • CPG Experience required

  • 10 years’ experience inCategory Management, Customer Management, Insights or Sales Strategy

  • Extensive knowledge of syndicateddata sources (ACNielsen, IRI,Household Panel, Loyalty Card Data)

  • Strong analytical interpretation, problem solving and influencing skills

  • Expertise in linking analytics via traditional data sources with cutting edge capabilities and tools to develop insights into action

  • Proven people management experience

  • Excellent planning, analytical, communication skills required; Strong PowerPoint, Excel and presentation skills

  • Capability to develop and influence strategy atsenior levels
