Background & Purpose of the Job

Unilever Skin Cleansing Canada is the market leader with 28% share within the bars, bodywashes and hand wash business. Dove and Dove Men+ CARE contribute 70% of the topline and the team is now looking to accelerate growth on this part of the business in 2022-2023 along with accelerating momentum on our Dove Baby Masterbrand.

The Brand Manager role will report into the Skin Cleansing & Hygiene Marketing Manager.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

  • Support and contribute to realizing the objectives of the SCL category as a member of the team.

  • Accountable for delivering the annual financial plan as measured through market share, topline, margin and profit

  • Unlocking new levers for growth for Dove Baby and DMC bars and bodywashes while working with the category lead to unlock future portfolio building opportunities

  • Leading internal cross-functional teams to achieve brand objectives.

  • Clear understanding of customer objectives and working in alignment with Sales and Trade Marketing counterparts to support customer needs.

  • Working closely with global brand partners to optimize innovation mixes for the Canadian market, delivering on-time flawless execution of these programs.

  • General management accountability in all aspects of the brand. eg. inventory, margins, P&Ls, SMOG

  • Lead agency and internal cross-functional teams to achieve brand objectives, including planning and executing the holistic 2022 brand turnaround plan

  • Driving mental and physical reach of core and new innovations & keeping a pulse of the latest consumer trends in Canada

  • Manage and develop 1 direct team member

What You’ll Need To Succeed

  • Strong growth mindset and bias for action; operational rigor, with the ability to identify and execute new opportunities  

  • Has excellent Analytical/quantitative skills & project management skills; be able to effectively present and implement action plans.

  • Experience with market & competitive analysis, brand positioning strategies, project management, 6P analysis, financial analysis, team management

  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to develop strong relationships with global and US teams as well as independently lead & motivate internal cross-functional teams & external agency partners

  • At least 5-8 years relevant marketing experience in CPG

  • Prior experience in Canadian market preferred

  • Degree in Marketing preferable
