The Information and Analytics team is responsible for building data assets, data science and analytics as a core capability to help the business become data intelligent and drive business performance.  The I&A team will define and execute a clear data strategy for the business, democratising data across the organisation and ensuring our data becomes a strategic asset fuelling business growth.

There are five major themes to the Information and Analytics strategy:

Deliver Intelligent systems at scale. Powering Business (cross functional) and Customer Development area through data and analytics. Building out the right applications to enable business teams to move faster, with more accurate and future looking decisions leveraging Big Data & Data Science Winning disproportionately in Markets. Better data and data science access for every part of Unilever, across the 3 data frameworks (Connectivity, Growth, Continuous Improvement) and leading through the Enterprise Data Executive. Continued excellence in delivery of diagnostics and insights to focus attention when and where it matters with a focus on Big Bets, Strategic Initiatives and Leadership team reporting.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assist in the analysis of business requests such as Product, SCOA, statutory changes to major projects such as the disposal of Spreads business OTIF as approved by the Finance Information Council.

  • Assist in the design and successful implementation for all such Finance business information requests in all Finance data warehouses across in the relevant region Sirius (Europe), Cordillera (North America, LATAM) and U2K2 (NAMETRUB, Africa, North Asia, SEAA).

  • Assist in the build, test and regional deployment of such E-2-E information solutions, assisting in the managing and co-ordinating of a large regional network of cross-functional internal and external teams including IT, Process, Master data, country business, etc. 

  •  Drive continuous improvement across all live platforms and products and ensure service levels are available, monitored and met.

Experience and Qualifications Required:

  • Graduate and Qualified management accountant.

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience built up over a number of Finance and Information Management roles including Financial and Management reporting, plus IM and data modelling roles in a large multi category and multi-geography company.

  • Experience in translating business requirements into the design of end-to-end regional and local information solutions spanning source SAP transaction systems through to data modelling, data warehouses and linking through to front-end tools such as Power BI. 

  • Experience in large regional projects to build, test and deployment of such E-2-E information solutions, playing a key role to work with a large global network of cross-functional internal and external teams including IT, Process, Master data, country business, etc. 

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

  • Business requirement gathering, analysis of multiple source systems required to extract the data and data modelling.

  • Involved in designing the dimensions and facts for a data warehouse.

  • Basic understanding of ETL jobs/scripts for cleansing, transforming, and organizing the data required for business and loading the data warehouse.

  • Designing and implementing security models/roles in reporting solution.

  • Creating reports and charts in reporting tools like Power BI for dashboard for various user stories.

  • Conduct testing of new developments / change requests to confirm acceptance, ideally to include check of basic coding.

  • Experience in root cause analysis for any discrepancy in the data and addressing data quality issues.  Create and monitor reporting schedules and running reporting operation as a service.

  • Manage historical data migration.

  • Data exploration and profiling skills, ideally by using R, Python.

  • Delivering projects through Agile methodology.

  • Fully operational in tools like Power BI, R, Python, Azure, Data bricks, Teradata, SQL, AAS, Hadoop, Excel, and basic understanding of SAP COPA/BW as source systems.

Key Technical Skills:

  • Management accounting including Financial and Management reporting.

  • Information management skills including business analysis, data, and information modelling, designing insightful and compelling formats and user journeys on business performance.

  • Skills in the logical design and maintenance of data warehousing, extraction, and manipulation, with a strong working knowledge of front-end tools such as Power BI.

  • Good understanding of the tool and techniques associated with Master Data management.

  • Ability to work well within a team environment.

  • Good Excel skills.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
