Job Summary:

Ben & Jerry’s is looking for a creative, driven, empathic, analytical, and organized Associate Brand Manager – New Markets to join our mission and use our business to create progressive change in the world while making the best possible ice cream in the nicest way possible.

This position is part of the New Markets team based in Vermont. This position will be responsible for delivering NPD innovation projects as well as mange an existing global portfolio across seven global markets. The role will also support the line manager with New Market business strategy. The role will require strong project & timeline management skills and require close interaction with Brand, R&D, operations, graphic design, supply chain, procurement, specification management, finance, legal and new market regional brand teams, to deliver products on time and in full in country. Responsibilities will encompass key aspects of the business including Product, Packaging, Proposition, Pricing, across the complete B&J’s New Markets portfolio, as well as Product and New Market P&L analysis. We are looking for a strong candidate who is comfortable supporting global projects and can work collaboratively, cross functionally, and across regions to deliver product and country launches to agreed timelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Working with the Senior Brand Manager- New Markets, develop new products for new markets that build awareness, drive trial, demonstrate leadership in progressive values and deliver the fun and irreverence that define Ben & Jerry’s:

  • Project lead to manage regional product innovation process across the New Market geographies (SEAA, ANZ, BRZ)  driving a 12Q plan

  • Manage Unilever stage gate process to vet feasibility and financial viability of projects.

  • Business case development for NPD projects, including transfer price and P&L analysis

  • Product portfolio management - work closely with creative design, copy writer, Trademark, regulatory and legal to ensure in country requirements

  • Lead weekly New Markets Project Team meetings and biweekly regional project team meetings with cross functional teams (R&D/ QA/SC/Legal/Regulatory) both in VT and regionally to manage innovation project timelines

  • Develop and lead New Market Innovation process optimization – to synergize the portfolio and globalize launches

  • Supports Sr. Brand Manager to develop product portfolio strategy that will define long term innovation pipeline and growth initiatives for key new markets

  • Assist in the development consumer category insights to determine market requirements for existing and future products, and to develop effective communication strategies.

  • Align the brand strategy for product positioning and key consumer messaging.

  • Commission and analyze consumer research, current market conditions and competitor information to drive to effective recommendations and decisions.

  • Exhibit commitment to the brand's social mission and help lead Marketing's contribution to delivering all three elements of Ben & Jerry's three-part mission statement. 

  • Additional responsibilities as required


  • Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Marketing or the equivalent, MBA preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, product development, brand management or brand operations

  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams.

  • Must possess excellent analytical abilities, time management and strong project management skills

  • Proven ability to understand and consider financial scenarios (e.g. product P&Ls, ROI analyses, etc).

  • Experience or exposure working in a cross cultural or international environment preferred

  • Ability to build networks remotely

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.

  • Computer proficiency, especially Microsoft Excel, Word, Project & PowerPoint, and MS project
