Who You Are & What You’ll Do:

This Consumer Market Insight Lead's mission is to show the business how and where to win in Continental Europe and work closely with the Brand teams and the Trade to deliver outstanding innovation roadmaps, propositions and communications which will delight our consumers, convince our retailers and make our brands thrive.

  • You use your innate ability and passion to understand and empathise with consumers and customers to deliver valuable insights to the business. You understand our consumers’ realities and habits, and what drives our consumers to purchase. You’re not afraid to challenge the status quo and do what’s want to work out what will work best for our customers.

  • You provide the business with actionable understanding of the markets and competitive landscape.

  • Leveraging those insights, you develop winning brand innovation strategy for Continental Europe (with a stronger focus on France and Italy) embedding market and consumer insight at its heart by tapping into category understanding, research, beauty & personal care trends across different segments.

  • You identify and priorities key market opportunities, and tactical and strategic opportunities for the business.

  • You champion competitive and entrepreneurial behaviour and mindset throughout the business and translate it into targeted innovation activities to grow Elida Beauty and win against competition.

  • You develop your appreciation of brand development (mix creation), understanding brand positioning, advertising and product innovation, and of brand activation.

  • You provide strong analysis to support brand decisions through interpreting and communicating research learnings (from primary and secondary research e.g. market information, ad hoc research) and continuous data, for a range of business activities.

  • You are independent and deliver fact based, objective views of the business using qualitative and quantitative research or data to generate insight, validate hypothesis and inform decision making.  You will provide credible recommendations to marketing business partners, based on a one consumer approach.

  • Operate in a professional manner, applying consumer market insight tools and techniques with rigour and discipline.

  • Work closely with our agencies to ensure excellent quality of work and strong commitment to the business.

  • Helping teams to lead agile methods (sprint work, MVP development, launch-and-learn to innovation projects and building new processes for iterative product development).

Requirements:

  • The ability to work confidently with multiple cross functional teams across geographies, with strong communication, presentation and stakeholders influencing abilities.

  • A successful candidate must have strong project management skills, high numeracy and data analysis for insight development. Strong project management skill is key for this specific role

  • They will have a passion for brands, be able to demonstrate the Unilever Standards of Leadership and champion the consumer, shopper and customer in everything they do. A sense of curiosity is key in understanding the people we serve at a deeper level

  • A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a desire to get stuck in and actually make things happen through their can-do attitude.

  • Resilience, team orientation, ability to navigate through ambiguous and complex situations and taking initiatives are key

  • Being ambitious to learn as well as a real proactivity in their own development - learning as much as they can about Unilever and Marketing as a function as well as bringing new start up ways of thinking and behaving

  • In addition, the right candidate will be highly motivated and capable of leaning in to support the team on wider portfolio tasks.

  • Strong Presentation skills are needed.
