JOB POSITION: Europe GeoIT Digital Marketing Services

FUNCTION: Information Technology

Reports to: Europe GeoIT Director

Scope: Europe Digital Marketing & eCommerce Tech Lead

Location:  Kingston Surrey UK , Rotterdam Netherlands

Business Context and Main Purpose of the Job

Within UniOps, the Geo IT team is responsible to business partner the respective stakeholders and deploy global and local projects for the SC, Finance, HR, Marketing and Customer Development functions in Europe. Digital Marketing & eCommerce is a critical enabler in Unilever Europe’s growth ambitions and to become a more data-driven and integrated omnichannel marketing company.

This role will lead the technology partnering, deployment, innovation & business adoption of strategic capabilities in the markets across Europe, working closely with Digital hubs, brands and eCommerce teams. With the consumer behaviour shift in post-covid era, data driven marketing & eCommerce (including DTC) is becoming a key growth driver and needs a reliable TechOps partner. Working closely with our central platform & architecture teams, this role will ensure robust, scalable & fit-for-purpose technology footprint across diverse Europe

Main Accountabilities

TECHNOLOGY LEADERSHIP & ROADMAP

  • Own the tech strategy for digital marketing & eCommerce, aligned with markets digital business teams & leadership across Europe

  • Deploy strategic and fit-for-purpose capabilities (part of digital reboot program) across markets and ensure business training & adoption.

  • Manage shopify based DTC webshop capability and ensure reuse & scale across markets & brands

  • Work with platform teams to ensure market tech roadmap & innovation needs aligned with central tech strategy & principles

BUSINESS PARTNERING

  • Work with business stakeholders to understand upcoming or future digital ambitions

  • Engage with other regions to explore tech synergy or applications reusability

  • Develop, communicate, implement, and evaluate tech capabilities in line with UniOps, market strategies and objectives.

  • Partner key pioneering markets & brands for innovation & pilots

  • Assess ‘business adoption at scale’ of your applications and find ways to continuously improve

COST OWNERSHIP

  • Be responsible for TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) of your divisional applications and continuously optimize

  • Benchmark costs against other division applications & ensure positive value-for-money

  • Ensure standardisation of tools & capabilities across markets (as much possible) and minimize local tools to only genuine cases and reusability across markets

OTHER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Building knowledge authority in data driven marketing & digital commerce space

  • Identify and manage external vendors in the delivery of contracted work & local/divisional capabilities

Relevant Experience

Essential:

  • Computer Science or IT Engineering degree

  • >8 years tech Experience & >3 in relevant tech (digital marketing & eCommerce tech)

  • Good knowledge of tech fundamentals in web & digital app space e.g. SEO, DTC, brand.coms, 121 marketing etc.

  • Result-orientation & self-driven

  • Good communication & comprehension skills

Desired:

  • Experience of market IT partnering

  • Experience in FMCG (preferably Food or retail)

JOB Complexity & Dimension

Needs to balance technology depth with business application & results

Needs to cover a broad range of business domain viz. digital marketing, direct to consumer, eCommerce

Needs to own a broad variety of tech/applications viz. website, CRM, webcommerce, recipe management etc.

Needs to simultaneously learn & apply new tech concepts & ideas in live business environment
