We are looking to hire a Power BI Centre of Excellence- Assistant manager based in Bangalore.

Main Purpose of the Job:

Unilever has one of the largest Power BI implementations in the world, and Power BI Centre of Excellence works in a daily basis with Microsoft during ideas phase for new features and developments, and during Private Preview to test features and architectures months ahead of public release. Also, Power BI has been recognised by our CEO as one of the top 5, must have, skills in Unilever.

Power BI Platform is evolving faster than ever, becoming the most comprehensive and advanced BI and Analytics tools, literally, ever seen, and it requires attention from many different angles, such as defining and testing new features, defining, and communicating best practices, helping with the management of a platform with tens of thousands of distinct monthly users, and growing.

We are looking for a Power BI Centre of Excellence Assistant manager that will have on one hand, the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing success of Power BI in our organisation and on the other hand, expand knowledge and expertise in all things Power BI with this unmatched opportunity.

Good level of expertise in Power BI is required but the candidate is expected to learn on the job, both, independently and assisted by other CoE members. Proactivity, analytical mind and capacity for self-study are required.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Conduct Technical PoCs on Power BI technology

  • Conduct activities associated to:

    • Training

    • Platform management

    • Performance review

    • Solution Review

  • Develop internal reports for Governance and Platform Management

  • Collaborate with other areas of the Power BI Centre of Excellence for new projects.

  • Develop and update Best Practices and Guidelines.

  • Showcase Power BI features (existing and new)

  • Help with the testing and assessment of Power BI features before they are publicly available.

Key Requirements:

Must have:

  • 5 to 7Years experience in IT.

  • Good understanding of Power BI Desktop and Service

  • 2-3 years’ experience developing Power BI Reports.

  • 5 years’ experience in Business Intelligence with Microsoft BI Stack.

  • Good knowledge of DAX and M query (Power Query)

  • Good understanding of Dimensional Modelling (Kimball).

  • Good understanding of Power BI Security.

  • Understanding of Power BI performance (analysis and troubleshooting)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or comparable experience in the field.

Nice to have:

  • Power BI Paginated Reports and/or SQL Server Reporting Services

  • Microsoft SQL Server.

  • End to End Data Warehouse design and build experience including ETL Process.

  • Experience with Tabular Editor and advanced modelling in Power BI.

  • Other Azure services, such as Azure Data Factory, SQL DW, Synapse
