The opportunity & responsibilities

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Category Strategy Lead – Woolworths to join our Home, Beauty and Personal Care team on a 12-month Maternity leave contract, based in our North Rocks office.

This role is responsible for the end to end Customer engagement model which includes strategy development through to range review. They will lead the Strategy development through to initiative and execution development for all HBPC categories. They will partner with the Customer manager and CCD Lead to deliver a customer centric category plan.

The role is the 2nd in charge to the Head of Customer Team and will lead Joint business plan in their customers. This role works with the Shopper Activation Manager to ensure best practice and continuous improvement.

Role Summary

  • Leadership & development of the Shopper Activation Manager

  • Lead and develop the Customer Unilever strategy for total business, macro category and relevant categories

  • Bring the voice of the customer into the business to shape best in class customer plans

  • Develop and translate customer & shopper insights into opportunities

  • Develop, lead, and execute brilliantly major customer initiatives such as joint marketing programs

  • Partner with Customer Teams across all categories to ensure insights and development of tailored category growth driven plans

  • Lead, drive and execute ongoing Joint business planning with Customer

  • Delivery of Customer tailored category growth platforms

  • Develop and drive the customer engagement plan for all categories

  • Oversee Shopper Marketing Plans tailored for each Channel

  • Oversee Shopper Marketing Budget Control

  • Support delivery of Marketing events with retailers

  • Delivery of macro store layout projects

  • Development and delivery of the major initiatives as part of annual planning process

You will bring

  • As a Category professional you have considerable experience and skills across Customer Development, Customer marketing, category or Sales with proven delivery of successful business results

  • Delivery in different market conditions and customers

  • You must have FMCG experience and ideally have a previously worked with Woolworths.

  • We are a complex matrix organisation so it’s important that you have experience of working in similarly intricate business and can manage multiple internal/ external stakeholders with varying priorities and ability to influence other through your leadership.

  • Most importantly, you are a passionate people leader with a desire to grow and develop capabilities within your team

  • Track record of leadership and influencing others

  • Clear delivery of successful business results
