We are hiring a Media Specialist to be an integral part of Unilever Canada’s Digital Hub! You will be embedded as a critical team member into the day to day operations of Unilever Canada’s Media and Audiences team supporting some of Canada’s most loved brands.

As a key member of the Canadian Unilever Digital Team, this is role that will report into the Media and Audience Manager. The candidate for this role must have a keen attention to detail and a passion for media and driving business results. This role will leverage data to drive media planning, execution and optimization that deliver best in class results. 

Main Accountabilities

The role will be grounded in the following pillars:  

Media Strategist & Business Partner:

  • Supporting the Media & Audience Manager to deliver the corporate media strategic priorities and drive best in class executions. This will include assisting with local and global media reports and deliverables.  

  • Drive media innovation with advertising partners and a strong advocate for first look beta testing.

  • Co-author measurement roadmaps with Consumer Market Insights.

  • Work closely with Unilever media and agency to pull together upper and lower funnel media activity and learning to share Holistic Communications Planning approach and results.

Execution Powerhouse: 

  • Working with the team (manager, agency, and analytics) to set-up and deploy the audience strategy. 

  • Accountability for your and agency partner’s work to deliver media performance, rooted in data.

  • Oversight and tracking of accountable measures such as brand safety, viewability, fraud.

  • Development of agency briefing templates, process, and ways of working, to support business goals.

  • Stewardship and sharing of media performance with key UL stakeholders.

Financial Operations Pro: 

  • Reviewing and monitoring the media financial reports. This will include PO creation, tracking, managing invoices billed and resolving any discrepancies. Experience with budget control reports required.

What you will need to succeed:

  • 4+ years media planning and buying experience; performance marketing experience would be ideal.

  • A self-starter with a keen attention to detail. Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.

  • Experience working with reporting, analysis, visualization software and financial reporting. 

  • Technical Skills: Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Tableau, PowerBI. 

  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders within an organization and external partners.  

  • Eager to take smart risks and champion new ideas.

  •  Ability to analyze and propose data-driven solutions, with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Communication and collaboration skills that enable you to earn trust up, down and across the company.

  • Willingness and ability to educate and upskill internal colleagues on eCommerce media nuances and their impact to the business.

  • Comfortable working in teams in a remote/WFH environment yet self-motivated and able to work with high levels of trust.
