What will theprograminvolve?

Theprogramis designed toaccelerateyou into a managerrolein 3years' time(if your performance is up toour highstandards).You’ll develop your individual leadership skills by working on projects which offer you the experience you need to be ready for your first management role.Over three years, you’llcover up to fourstretchingrotationsacross our businesses.

  • TheCustomer Development (Sales)orientation is part ofourCommercialUFLP.This traineeship is a combination ofMarketing and Customer Developmentroles.Throughoutyourprogram,you will have at least one rotationin Marketing.

  • In the end, we sell our products to consumers every day. That is why every UFLP will start their career joining our Field Force team for two months, to learn all about our consumers and customers. Both in retail (Supermarkets) as in Food Solutions (Chefs in Restaurants) and in Out of Home (all other outlets like gas stations &themeparks). It’s a great opportunity to really get to know the other “Future Leaders.

  • During the UFLP, you’ll build partnerships with our wide range of customers – supermarkets, drug stores, discounters, online retailers, ice creamparloursandeven theme parks – so that we reach our targeted consumers through the right channels. That could mean working together tomaximisea new product launch, recommending the right range of products, negotiating an annual business plan, or looking for new business opportunities. Our Customer Insight and Innovation Centre allows us to work with our customers in exciting new ways. 

  • You can also take part in building our brands and developingour products’ personalities by rotating in our Marketing teams. Our peoplehave the opportunity tomake a big impact every day on a local level, across Europe and the globe.

  • Support and empowerment: We'll support you every step of the way to senior management but much of your progress will be up to you. You'll need to be focused and ambitious to get where you want, identifying opportunities and taking responsibility for your own development.

  • During the three years of yourprogram,you will be learning and developing in the rotations you will be doing, having real responsibility and impact. This development is supported with a learning roadmap full of internal and external training focused on developing your individual leadership skills.

In the final stage of the application process, our Discovery Day, you will be working on casesin bothCustomer Development and Marketing.During this day you will meet senior leaders from both the Customer Developmentand Marketingfunctions.By applying, you confirm that you will be able to physically be in Brussels on the day of the Discovery Centre (3rdof December2021).

Requirementsfor application:

  • Please note we only consider applications from EU based residents due to VISA restrictions.Toenter the UFLP you will need to have a valid working permit forBelgium.

  • Additionally, notethatyou will only be able to apply for a UFLP position once every 12 months.

  • In order to be eligible to apply for the UFLP inBelgium, you must have attained a minimum of aMaster’sdegree on the date you will start your UFLP at Unilever (starting date to be 1st ofSeptember2022).

  • ForCustomer Development,fluency in English is required.Additional French and/or Dutch is a strong asset.
