Job Title : Assistant Manager, Data Quality

MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

This is an exciting opportunity as Data Quality Specialist as part of Data & Analytics, which is tasked to develop strategy, define the framework and roll out tools for data governance within Data Lake.

For Unilever to remain competitive in the future, the business needs to continue its path to become data intelligent and have trust on the data. The Data and Analytics team is responsible for building data, data science and analytics as a core capability to help the business become data intelligent and drive business and organization performance.  The team will deliver advanced products at scale and work closely with the market teams to ensure that decisions in Unilever are augmented with insight & recommendations wherever possible.

The Unilever Data Strategy exists for two primary reasons:

To actively organise, govern and manage our Data assets across the business, and To maximise the growth and value that can be delivered through the power of this Data.

Unilever Data Strategy has a clear vision: ‘to help make Unilever “Data Intelligent”, harnessing the power of data to deliver our Compass Goals’. An extensive program of workstreams was set up as a result to achieve two underlying goals.

To minimise the risk to the company from potential data misuse (Data Defence) and To maximise the business value generated through more efficient and effective use of our data. This drives our Digital Transformation and powers our growth (Data Offence).

As data is a critical asset hence poor data quality costs Unilever with loss of opportunity and not being able to trust the for data-driven decision making. Additionally, teams spend time “fixing” data downstream - losing productivity, operational inefficiencies and rework or triggering retrospective data remediation.
