We are looking to hire a Engineering Executive (Mechanical) based in Bangalore:

Expectations from the role

  • Should have knowledge in pilot plant processing equipments and utility system

  • Able to Carry out medium to high scale R&D projects including process engineering & automation

  • Partner with R&D personnel for process modifications, machine modifications, process layouts, plant safety evaluation, and in general facilitating research activities through value addition in terms of engineering inputs and support for projects

  • Proactively carrying out Infrastructure and facility development for R&D

  • Providing systemic interventions for higher quality in service and engineering support

  • Implement and being accountable for systems which ensure safety of all assets and buildings and people who interface with the assets

  • Provide technical support to infrastructure projects

  • Closely interact with R&D team in their scale up endeavors from lab to pilot scale. The jobs involves networking with equipment fabricators and contractors, input on specification, drawings, design parameters and plant layout, negotiation, execution and safety supervision,  Hazop studies at the drawing stage and after installation, installation qualification, trails, handling over, etc

  • Providing Engineering and Maintenance support to Pilot plants, Labs, Utilities and safety systems

  • Should have sound knowledge of utility equipment like Chillers, AHU, CT, Boilers & accessories, compressors, Vacuum pumps, air driers, chillers, etc.

  • Should have sound Knowledge in the areas of Risk assessment (THA), Work permit system, MOCS and other Unilever safety standards.

  • Ensure Statuary compliance of mechanical systems like pressure vessels, safety valves, boilers, lifting tools & tackles, weighing machines etc.

  • Should have full knowledge & experience to carry out high risk activity like height work, fragile roof, confined space, Hot work etc. at site

  • Should be conversant with SHE specific standard & FWS

  • Conducting periodic audits, PAR and implement findings

  • Should have working knowledge in design and implementation of RWH &water conservation and other sustainability projects

  • Contractor safety & management


  • Candidate should have Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

  • 8-10 years of work experience in a similar role or 7 to 8year experience in manufacturing facility

Expected general skills & competencies:

  • Expertise in AutoCAD & preparation of engineering drawings

  • Person management skills, problem solving and ability to motivate people to achieve stretch targets would be essential

  • Ability to independently work with external agencies, statutory authorities, and contractors

  • Ability to operate basic office administration software like Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Attention to detail

  • High Entrepreneurial Drive

  • Practical Creativity

  • Good communication skills – verbal and written

  • Planning and organizational skills

  • Building and managing key relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Languages known

Knowledge of English is essential, and Kannada would be desirable.
