Main purpose of the job: 

Communication Manager (CM) will be responsible for externaland internal communication inHUAD (Hungary& Adria: Slovenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia)area. 

In external communicationareaCM will be developing positive Unilever/category stories and turning them into opportunities with the media, as well as drivingcorporate reputationthrough strategic advocacy work. Moreover, themanagerwill handle media inquiries inHUAD, actively engage with media with the objective to leverage Unilever’s global narrative and turn journalist into active advocates.

The other focus area of this role will be coordinatinginternal communications, ensuring constant and two-way flow of information between company Board and employees. CM will be managing internal media andcorporateeventson the daily basis, to keep all employees updated and inspired. 

Communications Managerwillbe business partnering local General Manager (GM) andat the same timereportdirectly toEE Head of Communication(based in Warsaw).

KeyAccountabilities

  • Daily management ofMedia Relations, External Affairs, and Sustainability agenda 

  • Daily management of all company internal comms channels

  • Preparation of tailored high quality briefing papers, speeches and other background materialsfor internal and external purposes 

  • Independently developing positive Unilever/category stories and turning them into opportunities with the media.

  • Leading theHUADissue management,with help of the CEE Comms Director & Global issue management teamsand local GM

  • Drafting of position papers, Q&As and Social Media messaging on issues.

  • Conducting of stakeholder mapping and stakeholder strategies forbusiness-criticalissues.

  • Supportingrelationship building with keyexternalstakeholders such as NGOs, academics,trade association members, customers,etc.

  • Workingwith categories to develop broader communications strategiesin the area of issue management and business/category advocacy. 

  • Supporting the business with the launch of product innovations that require acceptance of external stakeholders and/or regulatory approval.

  • Line manager of the communications intern

KeySkills& Experiences

  • 2-6 years of experience in communication area(or other relevant experience)
  • Excellent communication,interpersonaland presentationskills
  • Experience in managingmorecomplex projectsatthesame time
  • Strong strategic thinking,prioritizationskills and good businessunderstanding
  • Internal and externalseniorstakeholder management
  • Issues managementexperience
  • Ability to work in multi-functionaland remoteteams
  • High level professionalEnglish and Hungarian skillsboth written and verbal
