MAIN JOB PURPOSE

We’re looking for a leader with a passion for consumer experience innovation. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who can identify and develop whitespaces. This individual will use his or her product management experience and international experience to drive the execution of new-to-market consumer products. This role focuses on innovation and new product development Planning for Unilever International Asia, focusing on the Asia region launching personal care, home care, and foods products. The Assistant Innovation Planning Manager will help develop the ways of working and capabilities for both UAPL and other Unilever Entities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This Manager will be responsible for managing key stakeholders across the business and across all work levels. He/She will work closely with NAMET, Russia, and Africa Business Development Managers and Marketing Teams to deliver the NPD plan. He/She will work closely with the Central Singapore Innovation Team as well as the respective Unilever International Hubs. Once launched, He/She will seamlessly hand over the business to the Customer Service and Demand/Supply Planning teams. This planner is to work with cluster Brand Development, R&D, and the cross-functional innovation project teams (IPTs), managing Innovation and Renovation projects to and On Time In Full (OTIF) launch. This includes the development and management of timelines with the combined project team for each project, as well as conflict resolution when issues that threaten OTIF delivery arise.

  • Manage new item set up for items introduced to the cluster via UL International through coordination with MDM, Finance, local and strategic SC, Procurement, brand and CD.

  • Comfortable navigating Unilever support systems to provide logistic information for UI clusters.

  • Supports in fulfilling regulatory requirements of market under you and unlock documentation needed from cross functional team

  • Partner with cluster Brand Building and Customer Development to validate volumes and business case for new sourcing.

  • Build and maintain innovation timeline with inputs from broader project team, holding cross-functional team members accountable for on-time delivery of their tasks to ensure key milestones are achieved OTIF

  • Support monthly NPD calls with UI Senior Leadership and cross functional team to evaluate risk and escalate where necessary

  • Update and communicate risk management plans developed by project team

  • Support the establishment of Service Level Agreements with Sourcing Units including: Quality Requirements, Lead Time, MOQ/Order Increment, and other identified cluster requirements.

  • Deliver SC KPI to Target. Eg: Project OTIF, Stock Levels, Cost.

  • Further develop proper NPD hand off strategy with SC counterparts once projects have been delivered on time and in full

  • Improve ways of working across the UI Hubs to leverage NPD best practice to fit the dynamic organization of UI

  • As Capability Manager: ensure NPD process follow rigorously globally by all cross functional team, represent NPD in CCBT forum

  • As Capability Manager: publish monthly global NPD reports and anchor automation process along with IT team

  • You’re a born leader: Ability to lead in the international space through in-person and virtual relationships. Influencing key stakeholders across the global business units to deliver NPD Projects

  • You’re a strategy guru: Setting up efficient global innovation management strategy by utilizing in-house and 3rd party resources

  • You love to win, and have fun doing it: Ability to operate in a flexible and entrepreneurial environment. Trying new ways to deliver the business and drive growth.

  • You’re a paradox navigator: Have the ability to balance Unilever International and MCO priorities while maintaining healthy relationships in all organizations

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant area (Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, International Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics

  • Proven track record of relevant work experience

  • APICS encouraged

  • Experience : 8-10 years in Innovaiton planning or supply chain

  • Working knowledge in Supply Chain operations (production planning, demand planning/forecasting, inventory management)

  • Entrepreneurial mentality to quickly get up to speed on unfamiliar subject areas

  • Strong planning skills, or a strong attitude to planning

  • Attention to detail, critical thinking, organization, and time management are essential skills

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are critical for success

  • Flexible working schedule to accommodate international cross function teams

  • Excellent MS-Office skills

  • Travelling may be required
