Title of role: Assistant Manager-Audit
Background & Purpose of the Job
As Assistant Manager - Audit you will be joining the Unilever North American tax department. The position offers exposure to both internal and external business partners including the IRS team, 3rd party service provider, Unilever FCCR team and IT. The primary role of this position is to work on the federal audit of Unilever United States, Inc and to prepare APA annual reports. As a member of the audit team, you will play a critical role in progressing and closing audits as well as protecting Unilever’s reputation with US Tax Authorities.
Who You Are & What You’ll Do
Core responsibilities will include meeting with the IRS to discuss audit issues and the preparation of responses to Information Document Requests (IDRs). Common topics of IRS queries include Acquisitions/Amortization of acquired intangibles, Calculation of NOLs, Business acquisition expenses, fixed assets/depreciation, and dispositions. Another core responsibility is to prepare Annual Reports for two Advanced Pricing Agreements to prove that the current year pricing adheres to the agreement. Responsibilities will also include supporting federal tax reporting and possibly federal compliance.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
This is a unique position, and the ability to build relationships will be essential. Also necessary are strong writing and communication skills, and the right energy and attitude to deal with auditors.
- Undergraduate degree in accounting
- CPA, MS Taxation a plus
- 5 years federal corporate tax experience
- SAP proficient
- Working knowledge of Corp Tax
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office- Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
