Title of role: Tax Accountant – Reporting
Background & Purpose of the Job
As Tax Accountant you will be joining the Unilever North American tax department. The position offers exposure to both internal and external business partners including tax professionals, controller’s department, 3rd party service provider, Unilever Operations Center and Global tax and accounting departments. The primary role of this position is to assist in US tax reporting for both P&L and Balance Sheet. As a member of the tax reporting team, you will play a critical role in US tax accounting. This position will also support the federal audit of Unilever United States, Inc.
Who You Are & What You’ll Do
Core responsibilities will include learning the entire tax reporting process- both the Unilever tax balance sheet process and the tax P&L and ETR process. Additional responsibilities include preparing/reviewing true up, tax journal entries, account reconciliation, Sarbanes-Oxley controls, SAP and reporting system updates, support for acquisition/disposition accounting and deferred tax balance reconciliations. Responsibilities will also include supporting and progressing the IRS audit and possibly federal compliance.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
This is a unique position, and the ability to build relationships will be essential. Also necessary are strong writing and communication skills, and the right energy and attitude to deal with auditors.
- Undergraduate degree in accounting
- CPA a plus
- 3- 5 years tax accounting experience
- SAP user
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office- Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
