TheJonesborofactory is a24/5 dayhigh-paced dynamic work environment. We achieve goals through collaborative cross-functional teamsand WCM focus.  The site’s historyonly dates back 11years anddelightsconsumerswith a variety of Nexxus,Tresemme, St. Ives, Baby Dove, Axe, and otherUnileverpersonal care brands.We are proud to beone of the newest personal care facilities in the UnileverNorth Americanetwork.We are committed to developing leaders equipped to handle challenges across the company. 

The purpose of this position is tosupportthecontinuous improvement program for the site.

Who You Are & What You’llDo

TheFocused ImprovementEngineer role is critical to the development of our factories to World Class, which means zero defects, zero waste and zero losses.  She/he will apply extensively the full range of Focused and Quality Improvement methods and tools to counter losses identified in the areas of Safety (SA), Quality (QC), Cost Deployment (CD), Customer Service (CS) and Logistics (L). The Cost Deployment pillar will be populated with data built up through application of the Managing Manufacturing Performance (MMP) Code, which is key to ensuring focus on key losses.

As theFocused ImprovementEngineer,you will play a key role in delivering the factory results through theFocusedImprovement(FI)methodology.Working directlywithProduction team members,site Technical Engineering, andall Pillarstoact as the technical advisor providingcoaching in phenomena identification, root cause analysis and the establishment of countermeasures.

You will achieve this by mastering theWCMmethodology through study and practical application,coaching the factory teamsas they progress through the program, and driving change.

You will leverage yourtrainingand technical knowledge toeliminatelosses,waste,and increase theproduction output across multiple work centers or production lines.You willbe guidedon loss prioritization and eliminationby working close with Cost Deployment, Quality, and Safety Pillar leads.You will alsoplay a key roleinmovingaway fromthereactive approach to losses towards a proactive approach. 

Your line manager will be the World Class Manufacturing Manager for the site who reports to the Factory Director.

  • You’re a culture & change champion:As we progress towards World Class performance our people need to take more decisions and lead improvement activity. You will be key in setting the road map to achieve this goal and drive the culture change through everyday actions.

What You’ll NeedToSucceed

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering(Mechanical/Industrial) preferred

  • Entrylevelrolefor post-graduates, must demonstrate a flair for improvement engineering, digitalenhancements,andtechnicalknowledge.

  • Attention to detail, bias for action, accountability, written and verbal communication skills, data collection and analysis, problem solving, decision-making, teamwork, and judgement

  • Desired:Related experiencein FI or(WCM/TPM principles in manufacturing environment)
