CO & LOGISTICS PORTFOLIO

The Logistics Portfolio covers the sourcing strategy development and procurement of logistical services for Unilever globally, including transportation, warehousing, pallets, sea freight and air freight services.  The broader Customer Operations scope works closely with IOPs to ensure the necessary procurement sourcing strategy.  Therefore this position will work with a global scope across Customer Operations, CO (50%) and Logistics Procurement (50%) in close connection with the Logistics Procurement Leadership Team (LPLT) and S&I Logistics team to create portfolio sourcing and supplier strategies that align with the overall business objectives relevant to CO & Logistics. Key Facts and Figures: € 3.1 Billion Spend; 400+ warehouses globally; 4000+ suppliers globally.

MAIN JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the Procurement Manager Global CO & Global Logistics- Logistics, Global Procurement the purpose of this role is to support the delivery of Procurement’s Lighthouse strategy across its different pillars, logistics sub-portfolios and geographies focusing on Competitive buying, sustainable sourcing, building purpose-led partnerships for Logistics Procurement as well as capability development in procurement across Transport, Warehousing, and Pallets. Similarly for CO.

The role will be focused on:

  • PMO for procurement logistic projects linked to one Region

  • Develop procurement logistics COE and best practices implementation for Region.

  • Key Point of contact in the region for Global Team, consolidating all the information and driving overarching outputs based on those

  • Deep expertise for one Logistic Sub-portfolio (e.g. warehouse, transport, pallet, etc) supporting strategy development and key sourcing projects. Similarly for broader CO scope.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THE ROLE?

You are expected to Deliver on World class service, Competitive Cost and Sustainable sourcing by:

  • Support portfolio Strategy and capability development, Negotiation preparation, Contracting via the expertise and engages in creating Logistics Sourcing Excellence, Gold Standard Contracting and playbooks for Logistics and for CO across the different sub-portfolios: warehousing, transport, pallets, ocean etc. Works together with S&I and regional/market logistic procurement teams to co-create and implement.

  • Supports the definition, development and rollout of key logistics projects related with Lighthouse strategic pillars in conjunction with the LPLT: Buying Competitively, Joint Buying, Partnerships, Sustainability, Value Chain, Digital etc

  • Act as a centre of excellence to bring subject-matter-expertise across the different Logistics sub-portfolios and support value creation opportunities based on a deep Logistics expertise of market conditions and future market trends, Macro/micro economic impacts, Supplier pools, Competitor and Industry Insights, as well as benchmarking and cost modelling in connection with WCL.

  • Bring Logistics portfolio expertise to support Logistics procurement regional teams with the implementation/delivery of key strategic projects/negotiations. Develop deep expertise in one of the sub-portfolios in order to drive

  • Support the creation and driving of a Community of Logistics Procurement practice for one selected logistics sub-portfolios connecting experts across the different markets/regions which accelerates capability development and implementation.

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?

  • Preferred over 4-5 years’ experience in a Procurement or Supply Chain roles either in Unilever / FMCG industry or in a large complex organisation with strong portfolio and market expertise.

  • Consulting experience in Tier 1 consulting firms would be a plus.

  • Logistics procurement knowledge in addition to strong program and project management skills.

  • Strategy and Capability Development and Implementation with demonstrated success.

  • Strong negotiation skills (Commercial and contractual)

  • Familiarity with 3PL activity-based cost modelling and contracting strategies, planning and digital

  • Strong business and commercial acumen.

  • Finance skills to be able to provide input on inflation impacts.

  • Supply Market Intelligence, Analysis, Competitiveness, and value opportunity identification.

  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical and story-telling skills to respond to multiple market/portfolio specific characteristics and influence change remotely.

  • Strong process driven with experience to land process transformation (Preferred)

  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and peers effectively (Experience of working in cross-functional teams within a matrix environment – both F2F and virtually)

  • Ability and drive to work independently and lead diverse teams, across different geographies.
