As an analyst, you are accountable for delivering impactful customer and consumer solutions and add measurable business value to Unilever. We partner with our strategic vendors (Also in-house) to lead technology, systems and scaled transformation across the region and globe.
Reporting to:Group Commercial Innovation & Analytics Manager
Your Role/Key Responsibilities:
The role will be working on a business intelligence solution tool to help to answer business questions on - Effectiveness of promotion mechanism; Financial implications on incremental uplift and profit; Scenario building towards competitive advantage; Optimum promotion frequency level to avoid diminishing return; Right product mix strategy.
Represent MY/SG to drive Data and Analytics agenda for a business transformation project, from Planning to Deployment Phases.
Manage Data Readiness Assessment project and co-ordinate stakeholders across Tier 1, 2 and Data Pilot phases.
Embed data analytics and decisions into Unilever's monthly business process, based on both external data (e.g. market share and household consumption and Point-of-Sales/POS Data) and internal data (e.g. sales data).
Lead category/channel deep-dives (e.g. Beauty & Personal Care/Home Car/Food or e-commerce) to identify portfolio opportunities/business drivers opportunities to accelerate business, forecasting on Market Size Estimates and Market Share Growth projections.
Improve Media/Trade efficiency and enable media/trade cost saving by running analytics.
Data science or innovation projects to solve existing business questions differently by the Internet of Things (IoT), automation, external data, etc.
Our analytics are a combination of insight and foresight. Overall work would be a good mix of delivering today (70-80% time/capacity) and creating tomorrow (20-30% on innovation/data science projects).
Internal: CBD Team (Field sales); CSP (Trade Marketing) by Business Unit; Data Reporting; Finance; Regional D&A Team

What You’ll Need To Succeed
Bachelor/MastersDegree in a relevant field (Business Analytics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Econometrics, or Mathematics) is preferred.
Overall working experience of 5-8 years in data and business analytics is preferred.
Strong track record of working with senior business leadership to drive definition, alignment, and support for application of analytics and data to address complex business issues (e.g. centralization of promotion spending decisions).
Ability to rapidly connect and match analytics and data products to business needs.
Expert knowledge of an analysis tool such as R, Python, Power BI, Excel, Matlab, or SAS.
Experience in coding languages (Java, C) is a plus.
Experience working with large data sets, experience working with distributed computing tools a plus (Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, etc.).
Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
Working knowledge to apply Microsoft Azure analyticsproduct to develop scaled analytic models in the cloud.
Passion for empirical research and for answering hard questions with data.
Ability to apply an agile analytic approach that allows for results at varying levels of precision.
Ability to communicate complex quantitative insights in a precise, and actionable manner.
Employment Type: 1-year contract.
