This role has 2 responsibilities
60% of the role will be responsible for the end to end logistics for Malaysia, Japan and distributor market in Australasia. This includes managing 3rd party logistics providers (3PLP) as well as managing primary transport, secondary transport and warehousing logistics operations across the geography, ensuring service to customers and delivering year on year improvements and cost savings via your team located across several countries. This role will as well be responsible for the smooth transition from a Unilever Operation (under TSA) into a ekaterra independent operation. This includes the design and planning of future network changes as well as contract/ 3rd PLP changes.
40% of the role is responsible for the Ocean and pre-/on carriage transport from ekaterra’s suppliers to ekaterra’s factories or external warehouses storing goods prior they’re converted into finish goods product. This includes managing 3rd party logistics providers (3PLP) as well as arranging (inbound) transport operations within given geography, ensuring continuous production at our factories by delivering goods on time in full to destination place. Within your role you will be responsible for smooth transition from Unilever’s operations into an ekaterra’s standalone organization by developing and shaping new organizational setup, implementing new ways of working, tools and systems to ensure end to end compliance for operational activities.
60% of the role:
Drive logistics operational costs measured as %TO reduction regardless of volume, through efficiency, network optimizations, innovative ways of working across the transport and warehousing space.
Drive service to customers (warehousing and secondary transport)
Lead smooth transition from a Unilever Operation (under TSA) into a ekaterra independent operation
Support for ekaterra SAP go live
Drive sustainability within logistics in the Market Unit (MU)
Manage relationships with 3PLs in the countries.
Support customer engagements with Country SC to create value and build relationships with the trade, including value creation capabilities from logistics.
Identify opportunities to improve key performance metrics, develop proposals to develop these opportunities, and implement where feasible.
40% of the role:
Receiving and processing all transport orders coming from suppliers or material planners.
Respond to routine customer enquiries concerning service ordered
Track the status of orders in the IT tools and communicate issues, mitigating solutions
Monitor performance of 3PLs
Maintain communication daily with involved parties (supplier and factory) and take action responding on their needs
Monitor, identify and implement improvement opportunities on Cost and Service (incl. coordination with procurement)
Balance the operational trade-offs between cost, capacity constraints, and service by proposing and implementing creative solutions
Support the evaluation and selection of new 3PLs
Support regional stakeholders and logistics leads
Implement new transport lanes if required/ Implement new 3PLs if required
Monitor the IT systems and ensure compliance of all operational procedures
Participate in external and internal meetings
Support implementation of new IT systems for ekaterra
Take over related activities into ekaterra’s operations, driving standardization and improvements
Coordinate on a daily basis with customs clearance with nominated brokers for import and export.
Aligning external issues for import clearance with Government Authorities such as (PTA, Customs, P&P Department and PSQCA.
LC & BC management for import and export shipments.
Manage Supplier payment process with Bank for import and export shipments.
Coordinate with TBO’s for timely shipment arrivals.
RM – DOH management and Inventory closing on each month.
Coordinate with planning team on export orders.
Liaison with forwarding agent on vessel rates, booking and shipping documentation for import and export.
Stakeholder Management and key interfaces:
Responsible for (inbound) logistics between suppliers, ports, warehouses and factories
Engagement with material planners to define service requirements
Engagement with factories to define service requirements
Reports to MU Logistics Lead and global control tower lead
Sourcing units, Planning functions, Sales team, O2C team, other ekaterra’s Logistics units outside your geography
3PL suppliers, material suppliers, freight forwarders, Sourcing Units, customs brokers
Required Experiences and Skills:
Supply Chain and/or Logistics experience in FMCG or other relevant industry (Retailer or 3PL environment)
Fluent in English and Chinese
Strong project management skills
Strong financial and business acumen
Strong communication skill
Proficiency in MS Office applications
Transport Management System knowledge
Willingness to work in line with various time zones
