We are looking for a State Account Manager Independents Channel NSW & QLD for Unilever Australia. This role is a key Customer role within the total business.  Externally facing, the role will manage Metcash NSW & QLD (and all Independent Banners therein) across all categories. This is a pivotal customer role, key to delivering the set USG and Profit targets. The success of the State Account Manager in this role will rely on the development of strong working relationships with all key contacts at the Accounts as well as the individual’s ability to create and adapt a plan and portfolio, and drive engagement with all key stakeholders.  

Role Summary

  • Delivery of Turnover, Customer Profitability and TTS budgets for Independents in NSW & QLD.  

  • Develop strong relationships with both internal (e.g. Category Manager, Shopper Insights Managers, Marketing) & external customers (e.g. Category Managers, Trading Managers, Category Directors Buyers, Supply contacts, Marketing contacts).

  • Developing and owning in-store activation events in the Independent Channel where appropriate.

  • Developing, landing & ultimately delivering Joint Business Plans with Metcash NSW & QLD and other Customers where appropriate.

  • Executing and delivering promotional plan with all Customers in their remit.

  • Discuss, agree and land Gap Filling initiatives (where appropriate).

  • Lead range and merchandising reviews (where appropriate), working in collaboration with the Head of Independents.

  • Deliver key Category Team initiatives at Customer e.g. Price Increases, Brand Activation, NPD etc.

  • Work with Customer Service Team to ensure customer service issues are resolved efficiently.

  • Data Driven Decision Making – use data to direct thinking and action

  • Proven track record in FMCG Account Management.

  • Experience in Independents in a Customer Manager capacity.
