To assist with the quality assurance service to the business in order to ensure that products produced by the company are fit for use by the consumers according to Company’s specifications and standards.
Your Key Tasks:
Analyses incoming packaging and raw materials as per sampling plan for non-conformities against company’s specifications and standards and utilizes SAP tool to block and release raw materials
Submits detected non-conformities to the QA Lead, Planning and Production and then follows up with suppliers
Carries out Audits in the factory and packaging material stores to ensure that GMP and CRQS (consumer relevant quality standards) are adhered to
Ensure processing material returns advice and supervises removal of poor quality material from site
Ensures that all transactions are recorded on SAP
Carries out Factory quality audits on the packed products and decides whether or not to release the finished goods to the trade
Ensures that CRQS (consumer relevant quality standards) checks are being done as per SOP and that any CRQS (consumer relevant quality standards) training is conducted as per need
Ensures that retention samples are kept for all product produced from each line and for each shift.
Monitor WIP and FG for Fines and Bulk Density
Monitor packing lines for product weight controls
Analyses consumer and customer complaints and develop quality assurance improvement systems for the factory. Investigates all packaging related consumer and customer complaints
Ensures Unilever test methodology is followed
Scoping and spacing of lab equipment where relevant
Blends creation in the absent of a Tea blender
Supports all packaging related Innovations
Can decide in consultation with QA and Production Manager whether or not a trial passes due to the quality of functionality of the packaging material on the lines
Provide feedback daily on Factory CRQS and ensures that non-conformances are corrected and stopped from going to trade
Skills and Experience
- National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Food Technology OR equivalent relevant to the role e.g. Packaging Technology/ Food Science etc
- 1-3-year experience in FMCG/ Manufacturing environment
- 2-5 years Supply Chain experience
- Working knowledge SAP, fully operational on MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Analyses data and information and recommend action
- Investigation of customer complaints working knowledge and experience preferred
- WCM, ISO, HACCP, Route Cause Analysis working knowledge and experience
- Packing and raw materials working knowledge and experience preferred
- Must have managed reports and presentations to all levels including Senior Management
- Experience with Tea will be an added advantage
