JOB TITLE Digital & Automation Engineer (Factory)

As part of the Engineering function, the candidate will lead digital, automation and process optimization activities, providing standardization and compliance whilst ensuring transformational change activities are delivered seamlessly into the FMCG production environment.
The candidate will be an established practitioner in the field of automation, able to demonstrate mastery in machine and system integration, helping drive our zero-loss ambition.

Purpose and Service: Taking responsibility for building your team’s performance and sharing your best interventions to help support the factory’ in their improvements.
Support and Training: Train the Engineering Team in all aspects of control systems.
Rewrite/Modify: Existing PLC/HMI programs to improve production, reduce energy costs and standardise.
Design: Implement new or modified Electrical Control Systems.
Obsolescence: Identify, Design and Implement the control systems to replace obsolescence.
Projects: Assist the Site Projects Dept with the control aspects when new equipment is implemented or modifications are required to existing equipment within the Factory.
Maintenance: Maintain and Control the PLC/HMI Backups and Electrical Drawings.
Software: Manage the control application software on the programming Laptops.
Production: Support the Production environment by assisting on Breakdowns.
Machinery Safety: Identify and Upgrade non-compliant Machinery Safety Systems including Design, Implementation and Validation.
Inspection: Implement and Maintain Vision and Barcode Systems.
PLC: Siemens S7 PLC/HMI S7 300, S7 200, S7 1200, S7 1500 and S5
Safety Systems: Siemens Safety PLCs, Asi Safe, PNOZ Multi and Hard Wired Systems.
Software: Simatic Manager, WinCC Flexible, Protool, Tia Portal, Step 5 and Simotion Scout.
Inverter Drives: Danfoss, Siemens, Lenze, Control Techniques
Servo Systems: Siemens, SEW, Control Techniques
Vision: Keyence and Sick
ALL ABOUT YOU
Ability to use Statistics and process control tools
Desirable: AM, PM, Quality and FI tools, Project Management
HNC in Electrical/Electronics essential, Post Graduate level education; Electrical Engineering preferred.
Preference for Multi skills (Mech, Elec & Instrumentation/PLC)
Minimum dual skilled with the ability to be skilled in Electrical & PLC
Accredited qualification in machinery safety
Able to visualize the ideal production system
Able to clearly understand operating principles and establish operating standards.
Able to present findings and rationales clearly to wider team and stakeholders.
Able to make logical decisions based on data.
Deliver the site Digital & Automation program, skills and capabilities.
Support for Focused Improvements and efficiency improvement
Control system safety subject matter expertise and lead of validation/upgrade program.
Define site automation standards, Identify and extend good practice.
Product and technology innovation project support.

Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.
