Main Job Purpose

Unilever International (UI) is an alternative but complimentary route to market, servicing white space opportunities not exploited by local operating countries. This is amongst Unilever’s fastest growing global business unit with 8 hubs (Singapore, US, UK, Korea, India, Dubai, France and the Philippines) with a diverse range of products. We introduce Unilever’s brands into geographies like Korea, Pacific Islands, Mongolia, and spearhead launches of iconic household brands into big markets like U.S, China, Western Europe and SEAA.  

The main job purpose of the Export Sales Manager is to sell MIK (Made-in-Korea) products or services of Unilever to overseas customers. He/she will be a go-to expert of MIK export sales, being responsible for generating and enhancing the sales of MIK products in white space markets by identifying export business opportunities, analyzing the trends of consumers, and developing sales plans and strategies to meet their needs.

Key Accountabilities

This role will be developing and managing the Export business of MIK (Made-in-Korea) products of Unilever, as a valued member of the Customer Business Development organization in UI Korea. Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Manage sales operations of MIK Export business and meet sales targets.
  • Research and identify new markets for Export business, conduct personal selling visits and build new business accounts. Examples of potential markets are SEA, Middle East, Mongolia, North-eastern China, Japan, and America.
  • Communicate with UI Global network and set up RTM strategy for Export business.
  • Develop and manage business plans to craft end-to-end launch plans and drive RTM for MIK products in overseas markets.
  • Manage MIK products portfolio with FCST and develop new assortment under Unilever brands.
  • Appoint agents/distributors and negotiate sales contracts.
  • Collaborate with agents/distributors for aligning targets, setting key brand initiatives, ensuring complete and timely listing of key innovations and promotional activities to drive sales velocity.
  • Arrange the transport of goods and the collection of payments.
  • Tracking and managing of key business metrics, budgets and KPIs across trade activities.
  • Analysing trends and opportunities to optimize and grow the business efficiently.
  • Track PO statuses and ensure timely, accurate accrual of trading terms.
  • Report in-market activities and competitor data and share insights from such.
  • Lead and align cross functional teams to effectively manage projects.
  • Collaborate with UI Global and local operating companies for synergies.

Experience Required


  • At least 7 years of experience in Sales, Overseas Sales or Customer Business Development
  • Strong track record of EXPORT sales, with customer relationship and P&L management experiences
  • Good command of both spoken and written English and Korean
  • Cross-functional communication skills and computer literacy
  • Bachelor’s degree


  • Prior experience in FMCG industry
  • Understanding of market trends, consumer insights and trade terms of different overseas markets
  • Strong business acumen, exceptional drive and passion to deliver business results
  • Proactive attitude and strategic thinking for more efficient approach
