The site SHE Leader has overall responsibility for managing Safety, Health & Environment improvement activities to achieve excellence for the ekaterra Tea manufacturing site in Suffolk, VA. S/he works with site Supply Chain teams to develop the local SHE Strategy and improvement plans in order to achieve sustainable SHE excellence by reducing injuries, illnesses and environmental impact as measured in the core KPIs. Role has expectations of flexibility on working various shift times up to and including weekends as needed.
This position is part of the Factory Leadership Team and reports directly to Factory Director with dotted line to the SHE Lead, Americas. The Suffolk SHE Lead manages Safety, Health and Environment strategy and application for 200+ employees across 24/7 operation.

The Quality Specialist – Suffolk role works in the factory and reports hierarchically to the North American Quality Lead in ekaterra.
The role provides support in all aspects of Quality Management, like standard setting and enforcing, trial management, management of change duties, participating heavily in continuous improvement activities, calibration point of contact, compliance checking and reporting for the factory.
The role works with the factory team in Suffolk, the Market Unit specialist and other functions such as R&D, Planning and Logistics for ekaterra and is part of the Quality team.
The role is focused on driving a decrease in internal quality holds, customer, and consumer complaints, improving, implementing, and executing kaizen investigations, and providing technical quality support to the factory operations and customers we sell intermediate tea products to. Document management in the Quality Management System (QMS) for regulatory compliance and incident management is also key.
- Leads quality improvement kaizens for product and packaging
- Leads innovation trials
- Owner of management of change
- Plays an active role in D and E Incident management within the factory.
- Provides expertise and support in Quality management for resolution of Quality issues within the factory
- Proposes mechanisms and processes to monitor conformance to global quality standards & requirements of Third-Party Manufacturers (3PMs)
- Supports external certification audits for the factory
- Provides inputs to answer Regulatory Body requests.
- Serves as the calibration first point of contact.

- Minimum 5 year of relevant experience in roles at local/regional level

- Ability to work independent in a virtual environment
- Proven and recognized achievements in risk and change management
- Excellent organization
- High level of energy
- Digital savviness
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to manage multiple projects with high delivery
- Fluent in English and any of the local language.
