JOB PURPOSE

Critical to Unilever is to protect our reputation as responsible taxpayers and your role here is to identify and manage tax risks arising from the business, as well as management of complex tax controversy and audits. You are also responsible for ensuring compliance with global tax policies, principles and processes.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

  • Control over the process and acceptance of tax declarations in the areas of VAT and WHT

  • Ensuring tax security and tax effectiveness in the area of VAT and WHT

  • Supporting and improving process flow for VAT and WHT compliance in an organization

  • Close cooperation with central group Tax department on the related projects and with the Accounting teams (Payables, Receivables, General Ledger, Controlling), Polish Tax Authorities (audits and ad hoc queries), IT department and 3rd party contractors in terms of new projects (KSEF), Shared Service (UniOps) on the monthly VAT calculations

  • Advisory to the Business on VAT and WHT

  • Communication with internal and external shareholders in VAT and WHT related issues

  • Verification of correctness accounting documents and agreements from tax perspective

  • MDR forms preparation and active screening for potential new schemes

  • Sugar tax calculation and submission

  • VAT and WHT returns sign off and submission to Tax Authorities

SKILLS YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • Financial Accounting and Reporting

  • Stakeholder management

  • Financial control & expertise

  • Insightful Analytics

  • Risk Management

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • At least 4 years practical experience in tax

  • A University degree in Law or Economics (or similar)

  • Tax qualification (tax advisory qualification, post university in the Tax Law) will be an asset

  • Working knowledge of SAP will be an asset

  • Fluency in English and Polish (oral and written)
