Job Purpose
The Category Strategy Teamplays akeyrole within the marketing community by shaping, developing, and executing long-termcategory strategies, leading innovation management, and steering key initiatives that enable competitive, consistent, and profitable growth.Ensuring plans are sufficient to deliver towards business financialgoals whileproviding brands with inspiration for crafting offuture-fit brand strategies.
The role ofAssistant Category Strategy Manageris responsible fordriving thePCcategorystrategy agendainAsia, withspecificfocus on OralCareandDeos.This role will lead key strategic workstreams that accelerate the delivery of category strategies, working in close partnership with Global Brand Leads, cross functionalteams, and Business Units.This is a high visibility role working hand in hand with senior stakeholders, learning from the category leadershipteamandenabling excellent opportunity to buildbusinessfundamentals, develop strategicthinking,creativityand leadership qualities.The successful candidate mustdemonstrateelevated levels of passion, creativity, an enterprising spirit,paired withstrong interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant willbe responsible for:
Category Foresight: supportingcategoryinnovation andbrand portfoliostrategies,bybringing in a cross functional,customerand consumercentric view,across key markets.
Enables acceleration of future growth spacesbyidentifyingand understandingofkey emergingconsumer trendsand shifting shopping habitsin partnership with CMI and CSP.
Category Strategy:Acceleratefuturegrowth spaces experimentation, with opportunity to lead innovation initiatives
Support in deliveringDeosAsia acceleration strategic pillarvia portfolio strategy co-creation in partnership with brand leads
Category Operations:leadend to endthe categoryinnovation cycle governance (Oral CareInvestor Boardsand Category Innovation Forum)
Owns innovation funnelanalysis and reportingmonitoring sufficiency of3-year funnel value with focus on premiumisation,providinginput toPC and Category Innovation forums,andseniorleadership meetings.
Ensuring effective management of IB by implementing simplification initiatives.
Embed AI capabilities to improve innovationteam’sproductivity and investor board decision making.
Business Skills
Businessacumen.Clarity on what drives disproportionate growth andcrates valuefor Unileverbrandsand ourcustomers, while improving the livelihood of consumers.
Strong Analyticalskillsand understanding of P&L, Retail, Consumer and Brand Metricsthat matter.
Excellent interpersonalskills,withability to managesenior stakeholders,and large cross functional teamssitting remotelyin multiple time zones
Strong passion for consumer insights.Ability to see through data trends and patterns, going from detail to big picture setting.
Excellent project management skills. Must have had experience on managing complex workstreams, and ideally multi-country and cross-regional initiatives.
Proficiencyin MS Office Suit (esp.Powerpointand Excel) - comfortable tooperatewith large amount of data.
