JOB PURPOSE
The Financial Accountant role is responsible for ensuring that numbers are right on time and first time, all financial fiscal obligations are met (including financial accounting and statutory reporting), that the right controls are in place to manage risks without hampering business and all specialist finance functions including tax, pensions and treasury.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

  • Statutory reporting
  • Month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing

  • Financial accounting including:

  • Global Unilever submissions

  • Trial balance reviews

  • Approving vendor payments

  • Accrual sign offs

  • 3rd party & OC R2R interface

  • Global reporting

  • Balance Sheet & P&L risk and control

  • Specialist Finance Functions:

  • Treasury

  • Tax

  • Pensions

  • Insurance

Experiences and qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance /Accounting/ Economics

  • More than 5 years Experience in Core Accounting/ External Audit/Finance roles

  • Advanced excel required

  • Working knowledge of SAP

  • Qualified Accountant (added advantage)

  • Working knowledge of Accounting standards ( IFRS) is added advantage

Skills

  • Experience in core accounting jobs is required

  • Experience of variance analysis and reconciliations

  • Advanced excel required

  • Working knowledge of SAP

  • Accounting qualification

  • Ability to grasp things quickly is essential

  • Attention to detail

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Inclination to learn and grow

  • Ability to work in a team
