Job Title: Part time- Focus Technician

Location: Leeds Factory

JOB PURPOSE

The Line Focus Technician owns the PM and Tags Management processes for the line. Theyare responsible foreliminatingmaintenance and breakdown related losses. Theyare responsible forbuilding technical capability in operators.

Key Dimensions

Peopleaccountability – the role does not have any direct reports.

The role requires strong relationships with other cell members, Operators.

The role is part of the PM Pillar team for the site.

The role is for 2/2.5 days per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Process / tool ownership and responsibilities:

Owns the PM process for the line. This includes deployment, execution, reporting the KPI for meetings and continuous improvement of the process and standards.

Owns the PM standards, incl. technical documentation. Continuously drives improvement of the PM standards.

Owns the Tags Management & planning process for the line.

Owns andfacilitatesthe weekly PM and Tags planning meeting.

Liasewith the maintenance planner toprocureparts and supports the maintenance planning with updating the spare parts inventory policies.

Owns the Breakdown Elimination process for the line. This includes deployment, execution, reporting the KPI for meetings and continuous improvement of the process.

Leads the Breakdown Elimination Process

Peopleresponsibilities:

Owns the building of technical capability in operators.

Coaches’ operators and craft on processes

Essential Criteria

Computer literacy

Effective communicator &strong teammember

Apprentice trained in a relevant Engineering discipline.

Minimum of NVQ level 3 in Mechanical / Electrical engineering or equivalent. Multi skilled preferred (or working towards)

IOSH Managing safely and Process Safety

Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail

Demonstratable experience of building capability in others

Hazardous Area Electrical Training (electrical or dual only)

Personal Qualities

Self-motivated, positive attitude

Good team worker

Proven record of operational improvement

Demonstrated ability of teaching/coaching basic problem-solving tools at all levels

Recruitment Fraud

Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money.In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.

How is Unilever tackling this?

Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
