We are looking for someone who has strong influence skills, loves learning fast, has passion to exploring new digital tools, data captures and AI technologies, and translating them into new workflows the accelerate and strengthen packaging development and validation.

JOB PURPOSE

This role leads the digital, data, and AI transformation agenda across Home Care. You will shape the strategic direction for intelligent tools, automation, modelling, and data-driven workflows that accelerate innovation and operational excellence.  You will act as a bold digital leader, guiding teams toward a digital-first mindset and building future-ready capabilities.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Digital Transformation – Digital First Leadership

Packaging digital Strategy

  • Set and own the packaging digital strategy, ensuring alignment to Home Care’s long‑term innovation and transformation priorities.
  • Lead the adoption of emerging digital technologies, AI capabilities, simulation platforms, and predictive modelling tools.
  • Drive digital 8020 transformation, develop digital tools to simplify packaging qualification workflows, reducing physical test, and scaling automation.

Data Strategy & Systems

  • Own and evolve the data, modelling, and simulation strategy.
  • Lead LIMS/AWS data quality improvement, including structured data capture, data governance, and error‑reduction initiatives.
  • Drive structured end‑to‑end data capture frameworks, enabling analytics, insights, and predictive capability.

Simulation & Modelling

  • Lead the transition from single‑function simulation to an end‑to‑end systematic simulation ecosystem (E2E rigids, E2E flexibles, Digital D2D) to unlock packaging innovation speed
  • Build connected workflows that integrate simulation inputs, performance data, and predictive modelling.

Digital Tools & Platforms

  • Oversee development, adoption, and optimization of key platforms, including:
    • MCA digital tool
    • Data capture & insight tools
    • Packaging agentic AI

Leadership & Governance

  • Represent the function in digital connect and governance forums (BG digital leads, Data Quality Connect, HC Digital Transformation, etc.).
  • Lead team digital awareness improvement, uplifting digital fluency, mindset, and capability across global teams.
  • Act as a change leader, shaping culture, driving behavioural adoption, and embedding digital-first ways of working.

Functional Capability Building

  • Lead digital capability programmes to with future ready skills (AI, Simulation, Structured data Capture, Modelling and Automation).
  • Simplify &translate complex digital topics into clear workflows, training, and scalable practices.
  • Ensure effective governance and alignment with broader digital programmes and business needs.

ABOUT YOU

  • Strong passion for digital transformation, AI, automation, data systems, and continuous improvement.
  • Background in digital technologies, engineering, science, data, analytics, or similar technical/strategic fields.
  • Experience or interest in modelling, simulation, structured data systems, or digital tool development.
  • Curious, proactive, and fast‑learning — motivated by exploring new tools and converting insights into action.
  • Able to influence at all levels, lead mindset shifts, and drive cultural transformation.
  • Strong ability to set vision, simplify complexity, and enable teams to work smarter with digital solutions.

Recruitment Fraud

Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs.  These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate. 

How is Unilever tackling this?

Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down. 

What can I do?

If you become aware of potential recruitment fraud, spot fake Unilever recruitment adverts or fake LinkedIn profiles, report them via Una Live Chat.
