JOB PURPOSE

The Innovation and Technology role supports category innovation, requiring strong Supply Chain experience and financial acumen. It delivers innovations, drives sourcing strategies, and strengthens resilience. The role is flexible across categories based on business needs.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

INNOVATION PLANNING:

  • Supply Chain lead for Innovation until MRG, working with Marketing and Research & Development leads in the Innovation trio team.
  • Works with innovation project teams to develop and update networks for projects.
  • Represents E2E SC and Capabilities Organisation in project network meetings
  • Ensures Supply Chain input, after consultation with CM, MCO Planning, SU Processing and Logistics teams, is factored into networks until MRG and that SC tasks are executed on time.
  • Leads make or buy study and engages Transformation Engineer/SU  to lock capacity and sourcing strategy to land innovations.
  • Engages SU Process/ SUIT to verify innovation capability and, where capability does not exist, ensures Capex requirements have been shared by SU Process / SUIT for use in the Business case support process.
  • Supports the Capital Expenditure Proposal (CEP) process with Category inputs and ensure alignment to Category strategy
  • Ensures each project has a completed Innovation Assumption Document (IAD) and, liaises with the Demand Planner, to interrogate the robustness of the volume assumptions.
  • Provides SC input on projects business cases: Capex, Conversion costs, Landed costs (for imports), write-off estimates and interrogates Business Case assumptions
  • Responsible for the sign-off on SC Golden Rules by the local SC MCO ahead of gate-keeping meetings and sign off by SC stakeholders where any deviations.
  • Schedules RMPM lead times into network as per input from Inventory Specialist and E2E Planner, to ensure orders are placed by factory scheduler/Supply planner on time.
  • Co-ordinate RMPM and FG transitioning with Inventory Specialist, E2E Planners, who are responsible for local transition management planning.
  • Ensures capex requirements for Innovations are collated with Brand Marketing team, in line with the 12Q plans
  • Ensures timely initiation and completion of master data workstream in NeCo/MPower

SOURCING and MARGIN OPTIMIZATION:

  • Complete Sourcing Studies upon request. Comparisons of the landed costs of multiple sourcing sites for a particular MSO customer. This includes a consideration of formulation and capital outlay, should it be necessary. Once complete, sign off the recommendations with the relevant MSO. Execution by relevant MSO.
  • Ensures Sourcing Planner, MSO and SU have signed off on ICSA; and ICQA has been signed off by regional Quality team and SU/3P with follow-up Risk Assessment scheduled.
  • Drives the Finished goods resilience agenda for the category across MSO. Determines resilience opportunities for A and B skus. Execution of resilience workstreams by MSO.
  • Coordinates the ongoing resilience workstreams required for business continuity
  • Leads internal and external benchmarking analysis for the category and region repsonsibile for.
  • Support factory masterplan creation with category inputs and ensures alignment to category strategy.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications

  • Tertiary Qualification
  • 5-10 Years in Supply Chain operations or Business Analyst role
  • Technical background

Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Business case development
  • Scenario planning
  • Strong planning skills, or a strong attitude to planning (foresight, accuracy, attention to detail)
  • Finance and business acumen
  • Project management
  • Team coordination / leadership
  • Advanced Microsoft skills, Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Microsoft Project
