JOB PURPOSE

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
• Define and enforce the DevOps strategy, roadmap, and best practices for SAP BTP development and operations across the enterprise.
• Own the end-to-end vision and strategic roadmap for the SAP BTP Build, ensuring its capabilities are fully leveraged and aligned with business objectives and digital transformation initiatives.
• Work closely with SAP Product Team and Act as the Product Owner for the platform, managing the backlog, prioritizing key features and solutions, and formally tracking it.
• Identify the Services required for fulfilling the business/Technical requirements.
• Design end-to-end technical architectures for complex solutions utilizing Extension Suite (CAP/Kyma), SAP Build, and Data & Analytics services (e.g., Datasphere).
• Designing, building, testing, and deploying custom AI agents and "skills" using SAP's Agent Builder (Joule Studio) to automate complex, multi-step business processes across SAP and non-SAP systems.
• Ensure all extension and integration solutions adhere strictly to the S/4HANA Clean Core principles, minimizing custom code and system disruption.
• Drive adoption of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) principles for BTP services
• Define the HA/DR strategy for the BTP services looking at service criticality and other KPI’s.
• Provide expert guidance and technical leadership to development and operations teams on BTP best practices, performance tuning, and optimal service consumption.
• Manage the BTP landscape setup, configuration, and security, ensuring compliance with organizational governance and standards.
• Security & Compliance: Define and govern the security model for BTP, including authentication (IAS/XSUAA), authorization, and connectivity (Cloud Connector) in line with corporate policies.
• Collaborate with executive sponsors, functional consultants, and business stakeholders to translate complex business needs into robust, scalable BTP solutions.
• Identify and mitigate architectural risks, manage technical debt, and advise on BTP licensing/cost optimization for services consumed

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications
• Minimum Experience: 10+ years in SAP technologies.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), including:
o Setting up and managing Subaccounts, Spaces, and Environments (Cloud Foundry and/or Kyma).
o Working with key BTP services like such as SAP Build, SAP build Workzone, SAPUI5/Fiori, ABAP, RAP, and Automation technologies.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA extensions on BTP.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform for provisioning BTP resources.
• Experience in DevSecOps areas like API Management destinations, Secure Framework etc
• Experience with specific SAP modules like Finance (FICO), Logistics (MM/EWM), or other business areas will be an added advantage

Preferred Experience:
• Exposure to multi-cloud environments and DevOps practices.
• Strong experience in delivering large scale ERP transformation program

Skills
• Strong knowledge of SAP BTP administration and security.
• Familiar in managing team working on Application Development & Automation (CAP, Fiori/UI5, ABAP etc).
• Strong understanding of Cloud Foundry and/or Kyma Runtime environments.
• Familiarity with SAP development tools, such as ABAP Development Tools (ADT) for Eclipse and SAP Build Code, and a strong grasp of SAP programming models (e.g., RAP).
• Proficiency with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipeline setup (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, SAP CI/CD Service) and Git-based development workflows.
• Deep knowledge of cloud-native application development, SAP BTP services (e.g., Cloud Foundry, Kyma), and containerization technologies.
• Agile Delivery & Stakeholder Management.
• Functional knowledge: Experience with specific SAP modules like Finance (FICO), Logistics (MM/EWM), or other business areas is often required
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Staying updated on the latest SAP technologies and industry trends is crucial.
• Address and resolve technical issues and bugs promptly.
• Familiarity with ITIL and DevOps frameworks
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to influence without direct authority and collaborate effectively across global, cross-functional teams.
