Location: Singapore UL Campus
BUSINESS CONTEXT AND MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
LUX is the second most penetrated beauty brand in the world, built around strong fragrance and skincare credentials. Sold in more than 100 countries, LUX is a truly global brand with its main footprint in Developing & Emerging markets (India, China, Brazil, Arabia, SEA, to name just a few).
Lifebuoy is world’s #1 selling germ protection soap, and the only brand rooted in Hygiene within Unilever Personal Care. Thus, our role in the category will be to continue to hold onto our leadership position in this space by ensuring we also transform with the changing consumer landscape post COVID – transforming to a Skin Protection brand – tapping into the Category Value Driver of “skin health”. Lifebuoy’s footprint is developing and emerging markets of India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Arabia, Africa, Bangladesh, Pakistan etc.
Bar is the biggest platform for both brands in many markets (Brazil, Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, etc ). It plays a critical role to cement the growth of the brands, and continuous profitability improvement. It is the most accessible format of skin cleansing, but plays a vital role of beauty and care in consumers daily routine
In order to grow bar steadily and healthily, we are looking for a Senior Global Brand Manager role based in Singapore. This is a global brand role where you will be leading the bar strategy and innovation roadmap for both LUX and Lifebuoy. The two brands have good synergy on key markets, technical roadmaps, and supply chain set-up, so we believe one capable senior brand manager like yourself should be able to drive the growth agenda for both brands. You’ll be reporting to the LUX global brand lead with a dotted reporting line to the Lifebuoy global brand lead. You’ll have one ABM reporting to you based out of Jakarta, Indonesia.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the bar growth strategy for both brands with clear vision and ambition
Lead the innovation roadmap and innovation projects that ride on the right market trend and consumer insight
Land new brand visual identity in pack designs and communications
Owner of communication strategy and communication development for bar
Collaborate with R&D and supply chain team for cost and efficiency improvement projects
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Previous experience in global innovation related roles is essential
Proven track record in mix development, communication development as well as previous experience in beauty and personal care is preferable.
Proven experience in working with a diversity of markets, with appreciation for local culture, ability to spot & leverage on market, social and cultural changes.
Proven experience in leading project teams to navigate complexity with resilience, great communication skill, and strong conviction
Demonstrable skills and/or inclination in the following areas:
Consumer love – ability to immerse in the lives of our consumers and shoppers, understanding their pain points, needs and desires, what delights them so as to craft most relevant innovations and coms.
Analytical Power: ability to transform data and consumer insights into brand growth opportunities & excellent at using data to make informed decisions and recommendations.
Ability to juggle complexity and at the same time ability to prioritise ruthlessly.
Entrepreneurial mindset and bias for action – independent, self-starter who can work independently. Solid agility / adaptability to respond to changing market dynamics.
Strong interpersonal & Influencing skills: build effective relationships with partners in different countries.
Team leadership – driving psychological safety, creating an environment where everybody can express their ideas and different views are respected. Be a talent magnet and a leader who develops strong well-knit teams and cultivates a high performance culture
Communication/leadership skills – leading & galvanizing external partners.
Eye for beauty: attention to details and consistently delivers high-quality work.
Passion for growth and high performance – putting great care and rigor into what we do, being accountable for and taking pride of our work.
DESIRABLE:
8+ years of experience in Global & local marketing roles
Experience in Beauty and Personal Care
