Main Job Purpose

The Queensland State Manager is responsible for leading and developing the Queensland field team to deliver exceptional retail execution, customer engagement, and commercial outcomes. The role drives operational excellence through effective people leadership, strategic planning, customer relationship management, and execution of national priorities within the Queensland market.

The State Manager is accountable for the performance, capability, Commercial outcomes in key Metcash MSOs and operational management of Queensland [Coles, Woolworths, Metcash], ensuring resources are effectively deployed to deliver best-in-class execution, customer service, and productivity outcomes. The role ensures field activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company objectives, while fostering a high-performance culture focused on accountability, capability building, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive RSV growth, Market Winning Share and budgets for their customers [Coles, Woolworths, Metcash] and categories

• Lead execution of the Perfect Store plan delivering profitable and sustainable retailer, business and market growth for all customers [Coles, Woolworths, Metcash]

• Lead the QLD grocery execution team in executing the grocery strategy in-store delivering key targets in relation to Perfect Store as well as Turnover in key MSOs across all categories

• Coach and develop Territory Business Managers

• Embed a culture of Safety across the QLD team

• Deliver range reviews in key MSOs working in collaboration with the grocery team

What you'll need to succeed

• 3+ years FMCG experience

• Full driver’s license

• Selling – ability to increase top line growth by influencing customers to implement Unilever initiatives bigger and faster.

• Negotiation – understands negotiation approaches and how to drive improved commercial outcomes at the customer, category and Unilever level.

• Is dataliterate, able to analyse data to make better decisions and identify new trends that impact the customer, category and Unilever.

• Customer Relationship – deeply understands the needs of retailers and the channel, and how to collaborate with them.

• Executional Excellence – delivers flawless execution of key business drivers and growth by executing Perfect Store and other priorities.

• Leadership - You are an inclusive motivator of people. Your team deliver with real passion, growing and learning from each other whilst delivering quick wins.
