UNILEVER FOODS & McCormick COMBINATION
In March 2026 Unilever announced the combination of the Unilever Foods with McCormick with a target completion date of mid-2027.
This is an in market, hands on separation role responsible for the full end to end delivery of Project Apollo separation activities for Unilever Australia. This position is accountable for doing the work locally — executing, coordinating, resolving issues, and delivering high quality outputs to enable Group reporting, governance and transaction milestones. Australia is a top 10 market for Unilever Foods and this is therefore a critical role within the separation.
The role requires a highly independent, self starting senior leader who is comfortable operating with minimal support, managing significant ambiguity, and taking full ownership from design through execution.

Purpose of the Role
The Project Apollo Separation Senior Manager - Australia is accountable for leading and delivering all Australia separation activities related to Project Apollo. This includes financial carve out activities, separation planning, execution, issue resolution, and close coordination with Global teams, advisors and auditors.
The role owns the Australia view end to end — acting as the single point of accountability between Australia and Unilever Group — ensuring that local actions, data, risks and decisions are clearly articulated, delivered on time, and aligned to Group separation requirements.

Key Accountabilities
End to End Separation Ownership (Australia)
• Full accountability for separation delivery across finance, reporting, and operational readiness related to Project Apollo.
• Translate Group separation requirements into clear, executable actions and timelines.
• Proactively identify risks, issues and interdependencies, escalating and resolving them at pace.
• Act as the central owner and coordinator for Project Apollo activities.

Financial Carve Out & Reporting
• Own inputs into carve out financial statements, data packs and separation reporting.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness and consistency of financial information submitted to Group.
• Resolve complex accounting considerations arising from commingled balances and shared services.
• Partner closely with Group Chief Accounting Department, Australia Finance and external advisors.

Stakeholder Management & Communication
• Act as the key Australia interface to Global Project Apollo teams, Group Finance, auditors and advisors.
• Provide clear, concise and timely updates on progress, risks and decisions.
• Build strong working relationships across Australia Finance, Controls, Tax, IT and Business teams.
• Coordinate across multiple workstreams with limited resources.

Execution & Delivery Excellence
• Independently plan, manage and deliver work with minimal supervision or support.
• Maintain detailed tracking of milestones, deliverables and dependencies.
• Ensure adherence to governance, controls and audit requirements.
• Drive outcomes in a high pressure, deadline driven environment.

Internal (Australia):

Skills, Experience & Capabilities
Essential Experience
• Strong background in financial accounting, controllership or complex reporting environments.
• Proven experience in business transformation, separation, carve out or large scale finance projects.
• Professional accounting qualification (CA / CPA or equivalent).
• Experience working with senior stakeholders across local and global teams.

Critical Capabilities
• Highly independent self starter with strong personal ownership.
• Comfortable operating with minimal direction and limited support.
• Strong judgement and problem solving capability in ambiguous situations.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise, execute and deliver under pressure.

Technical Skills
• Strong financial reporting and accounting knowledge.
• Experience with complex, commingled balance sheets preferred.
• SAP & iFinance experience desirable.

Leadership Expectations
• Demonstrates bias for action and accountability.
• Operates with confidence and credibility at senior levels.
• Pragmatic, solutions oriented approach.
• Personally drives outcomes rather than coordinating from a distance.

Why This Role is Different
This is not a coordination or oversight role. It is an in market execution role requiring direct ownership of deliverables. Success depends on the individual’s ability to operate autonomously, make judgement calls, and deliver end to end outcomes in a complex, evolving separation environment.
