Foods Greater Asia Packaging Program Lead

Job purpose

To provide technical leadership for the packaging innovation program within RD Greater Asia team. Responsible for developing and implementing a consumer-centric packaging innovation pipeline aligned with agreed target. Collaborate with vertical and country packaging, product development, CTI and other functions to deliver packaging solutions. Initiate and own breakthrough packaging specification. Provide leadership and direction to team, and serve as a first point of contact of the broader packaging leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead packaging sustainability agenda. Develop roadmap, drive the development and execution aligned with Unilever plastic target. Working closely with global packaging network to gather learning and problem solving. Provide regular update on plastic agenda to global packaging director and BU governance.

• Lead packaging superiority framework, develop roadmap and partner with Vertical and Country team to drive superiority target delivery and execution in alignment with global and GA direction.

• Lead the technical development and project management as technical project leader for breakthrough packaging technology end-to-end, in close collaboration with country packaging, R&D, supply chain, finance, procurement and marketing.

• Oversee design and development of packaging for GA new product innovation, providing input and problem solving. Ensure its maintained superiority score, sustainable, cost-effective and functional according to product requirement and market demand

• Collaborate with global packaging network to support the development and implementation of enabling packaging strategies and capabilities.

• Work with global packaging excellent team to build a strong, motivated and upskill packaging talent

• Build center of expertise on packaging innovation and technology

• Stay up-to-date of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation in packaging material and design

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor or higher Degree in Packaging Development, Materials Science, Chemical/Chemical Engineering, or related fields.

• 8–12+ years experience in FMCG/Foods packaging development.

• Strong expertise in rigid & flexible packaging, sustainability, materials, and packaging regulations.

• Proven ability to lead innovation projects from concept to launch.

• Skilled in cross‑functional collaboration with R&D, Supply Chain, Marketing, and suppliers.

• Strong project management, stakeholder influence, and leadership capabilities.

• Passion for sustainable packaging and emerging technologies.

• Experiences in working across regional team is preferable
