Function: Supply Chain

Reports to: Plant Engineer

Scope: Local

Location: Boksburg

Terms & Conditions: Full Time

JOB PURPOSE

This role exists for someone responsible for diagnosis, fault find, installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment at Packaging/ Processing Area. This includes ensuring machinery operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with electrical codes and company standards because here, we don’t just hire for jobs. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend to and maintain plants production equipment

  • Proactively ensure that preventative planned maintenance is performed in a costeffective way to ensure minimum downtime 

  • Maintenance of equipment on production lines/ Processing area and high-speed manufacturing lines

  • Fault finding, diagnose and repair electrical faults in production equipment.

  • Support construction of new equipment in plants/iInstall and wire industrial machinery, control panels, and electrical systems.

  • Handle breakdowns effectively and timeously as per MTTR targets

  • Accurate completion of administrative forms and the use of digital tools

  • Read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.

  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).

  • Collaborate with mechanical and production teams to optimize equipment performance. 

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and electrical codes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Trade Tested: Electrician or equivalent 

EXPERIENCE & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of N4 Completed Electrical certificate

  • 3- 5 years as Artisan in an FMCG manufacturing environment 

  • Basic knowledge of PLC and relay control circuit faultfinding

  • Strong faultfinding on e.g. motors, conveyors, DBs etc

  • Proper interpretation of electrical schematic diagrams and their altering when necessary

  • Working knowledge of photo electric and proximity switches is essential

  • Knowledge of Pneumatic Systems

  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team

  • Computer literate & Usage of APPs
