Job Purpose


This role is responsible for driving and supporting the growth and transformation agenda of Home Care Indonesia by ensuring On Time In Full (OTIF) delivery of Packaging Development programs across Cleaners (Wipol, CIF) and U-Pro categories.
The position covers innovation, renovation, value creation, sustainability (Clean Future), compliance, Supply Chain support, risk mitigation, and packaging resiliency.
The role will lead technical delivery from concept through industrialization, ensuring packaging solutions are fit for purpose, consumer centric, cost competitive, and aligned with Unilever quality and sustainability standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure successful OTIF execution of Home Care Indonesia packaging programs, including innovation, renovation, sustainability, value creation, compliance, promotional, and Supply Chain support initiatives.

  • Ensure packaging technical quality delivery meets Unilever standards and local/international regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure packaging components are fit for purpose, consumer validated, operationally robust, and compliant with safety, legal, and environmental expectations.

  • Plan, execute, and validate packaging technical trials at pilot and factory scale; maintain accurate technical documentation and ensure cross functional alignment.

  • Define and maintain specifications for finished goods and packaging material components.

  • Support technical and compliance review of artworks in local language.

  • Generate and deploy ideas to accelerate Clean Future agenda, including recyclability, monomaterial development, PCR adoption, material reduction, carbon footprint reduction, and resilient supply sources.

  • Lead value creation and cost optimization initiatives while safeguarding product performance and consumer experience.

  • Ensure qualification of alternative materials, alternative suppliers, and alternative sourcing sites to strengthen resiliency and competitiveness.

  • Manage packaging development processes across multiple projects, ensuring robust timeline control, risk management, and delivery discipline.

Qualifications

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Packaging, or related technical discipline.

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in FMCG Packaging Development, Packaging Engineering, or technical Supply Chain roles (Home Care experience is an advantage).

  • Strong understanding of rigid and flexible packaging technologies (extrusion, lamination, molding, printing, film mechanicals, and barrier properties).

  • Good digital literacy in packaging and project tools such as:
    - AutoCAD
    - Microsoft Project
    - CAPE Pack (or similar palletization/optimization software)
    - Any packaging related simulation, spec, or data analysis tools

  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and technical curiosity.

  • Effective communication and influencing skills with a strong collaborative mindset.

  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience or familiarity with sustainability methodologies, including:
    - Circular economy principles
    - Lifecycle Assessment (LCA)
    - CO₂ and GHG footprint reduction
    - Plastic reduction strategies and material optimization
    - Recyclable and monomaterial packaging design

  • Purpose-driven, agile, with strong growth mindset and bias for action.

  • Creative, digitally savvy, and comfortable working with data.
