Job description

What is the job? 

Why not accelerate your career with a marketing apprenticeship at Unilever? Working in a diverse, global business, you’ll gain invaluable work experience assisting world-class brands in areas such as Customer Development, Finance, Marketing and Supply Chain.   

Working under the guidance of a dedicated line manager, you will gain the technical knowledge and skills you need to succeed through a combination of real, practical experience and formal training. You can expect on-the-job training, formal development opportunities and dedicated mentoring.   

What could your day-to-day role look like? 

On our Digital Marketing programme, you will define, design and build campaigns across a variety of online tools and social media platforms. A Digital Marketing apprentice will usually work as part of a team where they will be responsible for some of the elements of a marketing plan or campaign.   

 

Your Marketing role in the Marketing Function 

  • Support improvements to our website and social pages.  
  • Help create and post content for our digital campaigns.  
  • Work with cross functional teams to develop core marketing and project delivery skills. 
  • Support the planning of adverts and communication for the brand.  
  • Contribute to budget management tasks  

 

Your Marketing role in the Human Resources Function 

 

  • Help the Employer Brand team with creative digital projects for social media. 
  • Get hands‑on experience making content, helping run campaigns, looking at data, and working with people from different teams and countries. 
  • Learn about Employer Branding (how companies attract talent) and Employee Advocacy (encouraging employees to share positive stories about working here). 
  • Track how posts and campaigns are performing and help prepare simple reports. 

 

 

What support will you receive during your apprenticeship? 

Your line manager will develop an induction plan to ensure you’re equipped with the foundations to get started. They’ll provide an environment in which you can thrive and will provide ongoing support throughout your apprenticeship. They will carefully construct bespoke goals for you to work towards. You can expect regular one-to-one meetings with your line manager where you’ll receive coaching and guidance. 

  • You’ll have the opportunity to build a vast network of stakeholders from across the business who you’ll be able to learn from and will encourage you on your apprenticeship journey. 
  • We offer a multitude of leading learning and development opportunities covering a huge array of topics delivered via in-person training courses and online portals.

Requirements 

Have or are predicted a minimum of 5 GCSEs including English Language and Maths at grade 4 or above.    

Locations Available 

Hybrid working with a minimum of 3 days required weekly at our Kingston office.

  • Step 1: Online Application

    Complete the online application form and tell us about your motivation for choosing Unilever and your selected apprenticeship programme.

  • Step 2: Online Assessments

    Situational judgement test which gives you realistic hypothetical scenarios where you will be asked to identify the most appropriate response. You will also complete a numerical reasoning assessment, an online test that measures your ability to interpret and draw conclusions from numerical data and verbal reasoning assessment an online test that measures your ability to understand and evaluate written information.

  • Step 3: Discovery Centre

    Candidates who perform well in the online assessments will be invited to complete a video interview.3
