Location: Anderbolt Factory

Terms & Conditions: Full Time

JOB PURPOSE

A Millwright Apprentice is responsible for assisting with the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical equipment while undergoing structured technical training under qualified artisans and engineers. The role provides practical exposure to manufacturing and production environments to develop competence as a qualified millwright. You’ll be part of a team that believes in doing work that matters — for people and the planet.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist qualified millwrights with maintenance and repair of production equipment and machinery

  • Support fault finding and troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

  • Participate in planned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance activities

  • Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and commissioning activities

  • Learn and apply safe working procedures and engineering standards

  • Use engineering tools and measuring instruments correctly and safely

  • Maintain housekeeping standards in workshops and production areas

  • Complete logbooks, training assessments, and apprenticeship requirements

  • Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives

  • Adhere to safety, quality, and GMP standards within the plant environment

  • Assist with inspection and replacement of machine components and spare parts

  • Work collaboratively with production and maintenance teams to minimise downtime

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate with Mathematics and Physical Science

  • N2/N3 or relevant engineering studies advantageous

  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical principles

  • Computer literacy advantageous

  • Ability to work shifts and overtime when required

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude

  • Problem solving and analytical skills

  • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills

  • Good communication and teamwork abilities

  • Attention to detail and safety consciousness

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced manufacturing environment

This is a factory-based role in Boksburg and requires 100% of time attendance on site.
