BUSINESS INTRODUCTION Personal care (PC) is one of the Business Groups of Unilever. It has a turnover of more than 12Bn Euros. It has three categories – Skin Cleansing, Deodorants and Oral Care. Most of the turnover comes from 8 Power brands – Dove, Rexona, Lux, Pepsodent, Axe, Lifebuoy, Dove Men+Care and CloseUp, with 5 of the 8 power brands having a turnover of more than 1 billion Euros. PTAB is one of the Business Units of Unilever and spans across Pakistan, Turkey, Arabia and Bangladesh. Within that, Bangladesh Personal Care is a €140m business and commands the position of market leader in Skin Cleansing and Oral Care (2.3 relative share vs next largest player). Strategically critical for PTAB PC, it operates with 5 strong brands (Dove, Lux, Lifebuoy, Pepsodent & Close Up), 3 of which are power brands for Unilever globally and 4 are among the top 10 brands for Unilever Bangladesh. With its large consumer base and strong market position, PC Bangladesh is the 2nd biggest market in PTAB region and holds clear strategic importance for the region, offering massive opportunities for innovation and premiumization. WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE The BU CMI Manager will identify and translate consumer needs, insights and behaviors to guide category strategy, brand communication, innovation and marketing initiatives for the Business Unit. • Identifies consumer, market, channel, community, cultural and trends insights for social and sales channels, brand engagement and demand generation with the ultimate goal of translating these into an agile insights ecosystem which provides business with a competitive edge to stay ‘three steps ahead’. • Provides discernment on what really matters to perform: independent and fearlessly impartial. Delivers fact based, objective solutions for integrated insights & measures. • Translate performance metrics into growth opportunities and insights into actions for the business. • Closely works with the PC marketing and customer teams — across the categories— to unlock competitive growth. • Analyzes category and brand performance, identify opportunities and risks, and clearly articulate what the data means for the business. • Drives premiumization of our portfolio ahead of the market. • Solves business issues and fuel category growth, delivering insights that inform strategy, innovation, and in-market execution. • Facilitate & lead Insights across a plethora of insights’ sources available – primary & secondary, internal & external to weave into a simplified story which drives a clear call to action and impact. All this needs to translate to strategic differentiation with commercial value. • Synthesizes complex data into clear narratives and influence stakeholders through impactful, insight-led recommendations. • Anticipate the future and basis the same build market shaping repeatable, scalable models. • Drives social listening to steer the social-first marketing agenda through effective use of global and local platforms. • Media channel and multi-platform insights that define the role of each media channel and define strategy. • Generate Content insights to enable brands develop relevant, resonant and truly unmissable ads across media platforms. • Work closely with key partners and help develop and execute learnings agendas to drive business objectives. • Collaborate with agencies to design and implement necessary research for identifying and solving business problems. • Develop Leadership behaviours for self as well as talent & team development capabilities, with particular emphasis on ability to build and drive internal with external alliances and capabilities from scratch, and productive virtual relationships with all Brands, BUs and cross functional teams. • Build Insights & data capability within Bangladesh. Key deliverables include IBP, category reviews, channel and competitor deep dives, innovation analyses, category trend POVs, and brand growth forecasting, ensuring insights are forward-looking and decision oriented. WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED Experiences & Qualifications: Previous experience roles (non-exhaustive) • 8+ years of experience in CMI • Strong understanding of consumer and retail panels • Strong knowledge of research tools & methodologies • Category & Brand partnering exposure • Strong people leadership Skills • Highly fluent in data, with the ability to turn complex analyses into clear, compelling business stories. • Comfortable with ambiguity, able to identify the core business question and cut through complexity. • Effective in fast-paced environments, with strong prioritization and stakeholder management skills. • Future-focused, integrating multiple data sources to anticipate trends and guide the business forward. • A collaborative project leader, capable of orchestrating agency partners to deliver impact. • Brings strong business acumen. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability in building relationships and positively influence others at all levels of an organization. • Experienced in using predictive and advanced analytics to inform key decisions across consumer touchpoints. • Able to assess channel dynamics and uncover new opportunities for growth through data. • Able to define, segment and generate tailored segments and target audiences for differentiated Power Brands in a portfolio of brands.
