Location of the job: Raeford, NC

Shif Assignment:

1st Shift: 6:00 am – 3:30 pm (Mon – Friday)

Pay Rate – $17.22 | Weekly pay period

The Basic Operator for the Manual Clinical Cartoning Area is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of manual clinical cartoning and case packing processes to deliver high-quality products in accordance with Unilever standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines. The operator owns the day-to-day operation, inspection, and basic maintenance of the clinical cartooning line, including the Carton Conveyor, Manual Case Packer, Case Tape Sealer, and Manual Palletizing Operations. 

Working as part of an autonomous team, the operator drives safety, quality, cost, delivery, and continuous improvement while ensuring accurate product traceability and documentation. 

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

  • Adhere to all Unilever Safety, Health, and Environmental standards. 

  • Maintain a safe working environment and always demonstrate safe behaviors. 

  • Identify and escalate hazards, near misses, safety observations, and equipment abnormalities. 

  • Maintain housekeeping standards through 5S and workplace organization. 

  • Support waste reduction and sustainability initiatives. 

  • Safely operate and monitor the carton conveyor system. 

  • Ensure continuous carton flow and promptly remove jams or obstructions. 

  • Perform start-up, shutdown, and changeover activities according to standard operating procedures. 

  • Monitor conveyor performance and escalate recurring issues. 

  • Verify products, cartons, inserts, and packaging materials prior to packing. 

  • Manually pack finished cartons into shipping cases according to approved packaging specifications. 

  • Ensure correct product count, orientation, and presentation within each shipper. 

  • Maintain production rates while meeting quality requirements. 

  • Operate the case tape sealing equipment safely and effectively. 

  • Verify proper tape application, case integrity, and seal quality. 

  • Perform routine adjustments and basic troubleshooting. 

  • Escalate mechanical concerns and equipment defects as appropriate. 

  • Build pallets according to approved pallet patterns and customer requirements. 

  • Ensure proper pallet stability, product protection, and load quality. 

  • Apply stretch wrap, labels, and pallet identification as required. 

  • Move completed pallets safely to designated staging locations following site procedures. 

  • Comply with all GMP, clinical packaging, and quality requirements. 

  • Follow GXP. This includes but is not limited to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Documentation Practice (GDP).

  • ​ Verify packaging materials, product codes, labels, inserts, and batch information before use. 

  • Conduct quality checks according to site standards and work instructions. 

  • Accurately complete production records, batch documentation, and traceability requirements. 

  • Identify, segregate, and report non-conforming materials or products. 

  • Support investigations, corrective actions, and audit activities when required. 

  • Participate in daily shift meetings and performance reviews. 

  • Complete effective shift handovers with accurate communication of issues and actions. 

  • Work collaboratively with maintenance, quality, warehouse, planning, and leadership teams. 

  • Support onboarding and training of new operators. 

  • Demonstrate Unilever values and behaviors in all interactions.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

  • ​High school diploma or GED.

  • Manufacturing, packaging, warehouse, or production experience. 

  • Experience following detailed work instructions and documentation requirements. 

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. 

  • Experience operating packaging or material handling equipment. 

  • Continuous improvement focus 

  • Teamwork and collaboration 

  • Problem-solving capability 

  • Attention to detail
