Job Purpose
The U-Pro Deputy Customer Business Development Manager plays a critical role in driving business growth within the designated territory. This position is responsible for delivering sales targets, strengthening distributor performance, and unlocking new B2B opportunities to expand Unilever Professional’s presence in the market. The role requires a strong commercial mindset, excellent relationship-building capabilities, and the ability to execute strategic initiatives that accelerate sustainable business growth.
Job Description
As the U-Pro Deputy Customer Business Development Manager, you will:
1. Achieve Sales Targets
Drive achievement of Primary Sales Targets through effective sales planning, forecasting, and execution.
Ensure delivery of Secondary Sales Targets by supporting market demand generation, trade activation, and route-to-market effectiveness.
2. Manage Existing Distributor Operations
Oversee and manage distributor performance, ensuring optimal stock levels, sales execution, and commercial discipline.
Provide solid PO (Purchase Order) recommendations to maintain healthy stock turns and avoid overstock or OOS situations.
Strengthen the exclusive sales team of the distributor through capability building, performance tracking, and coaching.
3. Develop New B2B Market Opportunities
Identify, evaluate, and penetrate new B2B segments aligned with the U-Pro business strategy (e.g., Horeca, institutions, manufacturing, FMGC partners).
Build and maintain strong partnerships with key customers and strategic stakeholders in the region.
Explore and execute localized commercial opportunities to increase brand penetration and distribution.
4. Build a Robust Sales Pipeline
Develop and maintain a structured sales pipeline to secure potential big customers and expand the network of sub-distributors.
Lead end-to-end business development activities: lead generation, pitching, negotiation, closing, and onboarding.
Collaborate closely with marketing, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure operational readiness and customer success.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or related fields.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in sales, business development, or distributor management—preferably in FMCG, B2B, or related industries.
Proven track record in achieving sales targets and managing distributor ecosystems.
Skills & Competencies
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyze market trends and translate insights into actionable strategies.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to build and maintain strong customer and distributor partnerships.
High level of ownership, resilience, and agility in a fast-moving, target-driven environment.
Proficient in sales reporting, pipeline management, and data-driven decision-making.
Willingness to travel within the assigned territory (Surabaya and surrounding areas).
