CATEGORY/FUNCTION INTRODUCTION

Supply Chain/Operates within the guidelines of standard operating procedures. Has freedom to propose improved quality assurance systems based on consumer / customer complaints. Make decisions "Approval / Rejection" of WIP, Raw material/Packaging Material and finished products. Can stop a production line in the event of a product quality/consumer safety defect being identified.

JOB PURPOSE

To drive zero defect culture within the organization through UMS and continuous improvement tools in the Quality Pillar.  then this role is just for you!

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

Inbound

  • Analyses all incoming raw and packaging material for non-conformities against company’s specifications and standards.  

  • Raise Supplier non-conformances, report on the non-conformities to the QA Manager and Planning team.

  • Process non-conforming material returns, advise and supervises removal of the defective material from site.

  • Ensures that all transactions are recorded on SAP daily.

  • Follow-up with suppliers on the non-conformance raised and drive corrective actions.

  • Drive packaging supplier approval with supply management.

Manufacturing

  • Carryout online trouble shooting to identify product quality issues and generating of NCA if quality defects are identified. 

  • Retrieval of samples from retention location and setting-up against

Customer/consumer complaint sample and preparing all the necessary forms for evaluation when and if required.

  • Evaluating customer/consumer complaints against standards and completing evaluation documentation.

  • Prepare and write reports for consumer/customer services team regarding investigated complaints.

  • Ensure there are up to date PQS standards on the lines and ensure full operator training and PJO’s on online PQS.

  • Drive PQS compliance, trend analysis of the results and ensure manufacturing incident is raised for the out of specification results.

  • Lead the continuous improvement agenda for the quality pillar through implementing Kaizens for QA Matrix top losses (including Manufacturing Quality Incidents, 

Consumer complaints, customer complaints, pallets quality conformance and Supplier non conformances)

  • Support the implementation of the Quality Management system, preparation and participates in audits.

  • QNF management to prevent defective stock from being released to trade and liaise with production for rework plans and monitor weekly.

  • Carry out Factory quality assessment on the finished products and decides on the release of the finished goods to the trade.

  • Driving T5Z compliance for packing and making, ensuring procedures are implemented and operations teams are trained and PJO’s are complete.

  • Drive foreign matter compliance for site.

  • Assist when required on trials and innovations.

Outbound

  • Manage the customer returns, analyse for defects, and provide guidance on reworking of the stock.

  • Liaise with the warehouse on the returns of the rejected pallets.

Administrative Activities

  • Generation of QEWO’s

  • Weekly reporting consumer/customer complaints

  • Weekly reporting of D-incidents and PQS Complaince

  • QEWO completion and reviews

Other Duties:

  • Do finished products line inspection for assigned lines when required.

  • Report any non-conformance on the shop floor.

  • Attend OR meetings according to FOS, take actions related to quality, investigate and provide action plans.

  • Interact with QC technicians ensuring that information regarding nonconformances is logged and addressed.

  • Interact with production in identifying when line changeovers occur and the communications of quality problems identified in the packing process.

  • Ensure that all jobs are done safely, without negative impact on the environment.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications

  • Matric with Maths & Physical Science  

  • Diploma / B.Tech Food Tech / Bio Technology, Analytical chemistry or an equivalent qualification

  • Understanding of HACCP requirements 

  • 1-3 year experience in manufacturing environment.

Skills

  • Working Knowledge of production and engineering processes, supply chain, and planning.

  • Working Knowledge of PC Skills (Outlook, Excel, Word and Powerpoint, etc.)

  • Fully Operational in WCM QC tools •       Working Knowledge WCM Q methodology

  • Working Knowledge of HACCP and GMP's.

  • Working Knowledge of OHS act and safe operating procedures.

This is an site-based role in Boksburg requires 100% of time attendance on site.
