Procurement Director Foods Greater Asia and Indonesia

The Procurement Director, Foods Indonesia & Greater Asia lead a procurement team of 15 people (with five managers), partnering the leaderships of Foods Business Unit (BU) with end-to-end ownership of a €650M spend, and direct impact on €1.5Bn business P&L for retail and foods solution, spanning Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, with iconic brands like Knorr / Royco, Bango, Lady’s Choice, Best Foods, Buavita, and Sariwangi. The role is responsible in delivering competitive growth, profitability, and long-term competitiveness through procurement excellence, strategic sourcing, material resiliency, and value chain interventions. As a member of both the Foods Business Leadership Team and the Global Foods Procurement Leadership Team, the role drives alignment between business and procurement strategy. The Procurement Director, Foods Indonesia & Greater Asia reports directly to Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) for Foods Business Group. KEY ACCOUNTABILITES: Strategic Business Partnering • Act as the end-to-end Procurement representative for the Foods Business Unit in Indonesia & Greater Asia. • Partner closely with the Foods BU leadership team to support business growth, innovation, and profitability ambitions. • Translate macro-economic, commodity, and supply market dynamics into actionable insights for the business. Procurement Strategy, Value Delivery & Transformation Programs • Develop and land future-fit procurement strategies aligned with Foods business priorities and Procurement Lighthouse ambitions. • Deliver Net Material Impact, E2E buying performance, service, and quality. • Drive competitive buying programs and strategic negotiations to enable superior cost competitiveness. • Ensure reliable forecasting inflation, savings, and net impact on the BU P&L. • Lead material resiliency strategies to ensure supply continuity. • Lead multi-year value creation initiatives, including supply chain interventions, long-term partnerships, and procurement transformation programs that can drive long-term competitiveness for the business. Supplier Partnerships & Market Interface • Build future-fit supplier partnerships that enable business growth through innovation, sustainability, and supply chain agility. • Strengthen relationships with strategic suppliers to enable long-term value creation. • Represent Unilever in the supplier ecosystem across Indonesia & Greater Asia. Sustainability & Responsible Sourcing • Drive Unilever’s sustainability commitments through supplier engagement, including regenerative agriculture, climate and nature agenda, responsible sourcing and livelihoods Team Leadership & Capability Building • Lead and develop the Foods Procurement team across Indonesia & Greater Asia, ensuring a high-performing, collaborative environment. • Manage team priorities, workload, and talent development. • Build strong connections across global procurement networks to accelerate innovation and savings delivery. • Co-Lead cross pillars and programs as a member of the Procurement Change Leaders Forum (PCLF). EXPERIENCES & QUALIFICATIONS: • Significant experience in procurement leadership roles, ideally within FMCG or complex supply chains. • Proven track record of delivering breakthrough procurement strategies and measurable business value. • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence senior stakeholders, and manage cross-functional programs. • Experience working with global procurement networks and diverse supplier ecosystems.
